Carian Hotel

This hotel is a hidden gem on the Island of Kalymnos. Thoroughly recommend this amazing hotel. The rooms / hotel are very clean and fresh and always kept spotlessly clean. It is owned by a lovely Greek family (Paula and Roso) who we would like to thank for their lovely hospitality and making us feel very welcome. They have lovely helpful and friendly staff, who go above and beyond to help where possible. The views from the hotel are unbelievable. Many good local tavernas nearby to eat in the evenings. Can recommend the Gyros from the pool side bar.

We had a wonderfully relaxing 10 night stay in this lovely hotel. Excellent location for a huge choice of restaurants, helpful and delightful staff, very clean with a lovely pool and sunbathing terrace, and also access to a small shingle beach and the sea. Our room was spacious and cleaned with fresh towels every day. We didn't have a sea- view room but the balcony was quiet and not over-looked by anyone. The breakfasts suited us perfectly and could be enjoyed on the spacious and sunny terrace every morning. I would totally recommend this hotel. A few steps to get round the hotel and down to the pool so maybe would not suit folk with a physical disability but other than that- excellent!

From arrival to departure, the staff were attentive, friendly, and nothing was ever too much trouble. The hotel was spotless, with an excellent variety at breakfast, and the pool bar provided a great selection of lunch options. The bar served fantastic cocktails, and the added bonus of the clothing boutique and spa made the entire experience truly unforgettable. We’ve had the perfect opportunity to relax, unwind, and recharge in such a pleasant and serene environment.

The beautiful carian, an amazing veiw and a beautiful hotel, breakfast is a thing to be hold plentyful and fresh and warm, staff friendly and welcoming, breakfast has a wide variety of pastries, pancakes, fresh fruit, yogart and all the toppings, fresh coffee and tea brought to your table by the staff. Our room was a sea view room with a panaromic view and balcony, the room and the hole hotel is spotless, although we could see why people may not like the storage options in the room everything in this modern hotel is open plan, and this is lovley however if you like a sleep in this is not the hotel for you staff can be heard starting cleaning from 7am and due to the open plan nature of the hotel every sound can be heard as it eccos, this would literally be my only complaint, there is also building work going on around the hotel it did not bother us but somthing to be aware of, the pool area bar and beach area are all spotless and we found there was plenty of room for sunbeds or bean bags, All in all a great hotel fab location and amazing staff. Kalymnos is beautiful and well worth a visit.

Pros: - location, location location, in a quiet area of Massouri while not too far from the restaurants/shops areas - great staff especially the staff at the pool - surprisingly good food and cheap compared to usual hotels food - nice rooms with good airco - decent breakfast Cons: - a bit more diverse breakfast - better soundproofing in the rooms

The hotel is located in the best part of the island, it’s 10min walk to a lovely ***** of restaurants/cafes and boutiques. The room and hotel is immaculate and the interiors are stunning, with the best views of the sunset and Telendos. Breakfast is great, Mediterranean and Greek (no horrible fry ups) very fresh. It’s a boutique style hotel and like the island is low key and relaxed. The only thing we thought is it lacked a little personality as it is so quiet (maybe some music sometimes would be good) but in the other hand it was nice not to be disturbed and great for a single couple or small family who enjoy peace and quiet. Staff are great and helpful! We stayed for 2 nights in the area as we are island hopping which I think is a good amount of time. We would recommend hiring a moped to explore the island as it’s so small and roads are quiet and some of the most beautiful views we have seen across Greece. A hidden gem of a hotel and area!

Outstanding hotel with the best hospitality and most amazing views of the sunset . From checking in to checking out our holiday was just perfect . We payed for a sea view and it was worth every penny . Lovely clean modern rooms with a glass balcony and view of the pool and sea we enjoyed watching the sunset on the island of Telendos every evening. The hotel is on multi levels lots of steps right down to a rugged cove , I absolutely loved swimming in the sea everyday . They have plans to make another sun terrace so I was told this will be another asset to the hotel . Can’t wait to return . Kalymnos is a beautiful island with lovely restaurants and bars we had a wonderful 11 days .

I think this review probably says more about us than about the hotel! We usually go self catering but thought for a special treat we would try this ‘boutique’ hotel with Jet2. Well it made us realise that this was a mistake, it cost a hell of a lot of money and fell short of our expectations. There are a lot of positives about the hotel - spotlessly clean, great friendly staff, beautiful views, good shower with loads of hot water, comfortable bed. However on the downside - room was much smaller than we expected, not enough room to put your stuff. Small terrace area outside was baking hot in the evenings with no shade so impossible to sit out there and enjoy the lovely view with a drink, also no privacy with other guests walking past frequently. We did not use the pool as we prefer the beach but it was a nice area and well looked after. Massouri beach was a 15 minute walk and down some very steep steps and when you got there was packed with wooden sunbeds, we preferred to walk an extra 15 minutes to Mirties beach which was much quieter but then a long walk back in the heat. Back to the hotel - breakfast was nice with a good selection but could have done with some more fresh fruit such as grapes and bananas to go with the yogurt. Overall as I said at the start this says more about us than the hotel which many of the guests really enjoyed. To us it was a bit too formal and pretty soul-less actually. Back to the freedom of self-catering from now on!

Enjoyed a lovely 2 weeks at the Carian. The views are incredibly beautiful and the pool area is delightful. However, the usual ‘reserving of sunbeds’ was a problem most mornings but in all fairness there was no way near enough for everyone, so sadly it was bound to happen. Breakfast each morning was laid back and served on the terrace overlooking Telendos, which was stunning. However, we found that the ‘hot’ choices were rarely hot, in fact barely warm which was the same with the tea/coffee on occasions. It never seemed busy at breakfast as it was available from 07.30-10.30, which was a bonus. We were given a triple room despite it just being the 2 of us so it was a very spacious room. In terms of the staff, some were a lot friendlier than others but a big shout out to all the Reception staff, day and night who were always so friendly as well as the girls who assisted with the breakfast service. The hotel is a short walk to many restaurants and bars and is about a 20/25 minute walk to Myrties where you can catch the boat to Telendos which runs every 30mins. Every Thursday you can visit Emporios by boat too from the same jetty. This is definitely worth doing as it’s very quiet and seemingly un-commercialised. We will return to the Carian but mainly because of its location and proximity to the local amenities. Overall, a lovely holiday and a gem of an island.
