Lantern Boutique Hotel by Reveal

Wonderful and beautiful location. The view to the see is amazing. Rooms were fantastic and really liked the architecture. Breakfast was varied and staff was extremely friendly. A lot of activities (surfing, snorkeling) are nearby. Ideal for a stay of 2 or 3 days.

Very nice place just in front of the ocean. Rooms wide and fully equipped. Food very well presented and good. We had breakfast and dinner and both were really good. Overall a place to recommend to everyone willing to have a rest and enjoy seaside atmosphere

Wonderful hotel, not so far away from the heart of Mirissa (7-8min by tuktuk), on the beach, with amazing views. The hotel is pretty small, probably a dozen rooms, very calm and perfect for quiet relaxation. We got a room on the second floor with stunning view to the beach, above the pool and with a spacious terrace. The room was huge, nicely designed, with space for everything, huge and super comfortable bed. Being positioned on the beach is amazing, you can long walks along it in silence and enjoying the vibes as the area is not for swimming. The pool is next to the beach, pool beds are just between the beach and the pool - simply perfect. The restaurant is with open kitchen (that needs better air suction - the only minus of the hotel). Breakfast does not offer huge choice, but it was delicious. Super friendly and helpful staff. We decided to stay one extra day - they helped us keep the same room and then on the last day allowed us to have a late check-out as we wanted to stay longer before going back to Colombo. This was true consumer-centricity! Hugely recommended!

Since my family and I came to the hotel as backpackers, I initially had the feeling that it was too nice hotel for us, but it turned out that you really feel welcome and accepted. All employees are very helpful and friendly! Since we left before breakfast on the last day, at their initiative, they packed lunches for us. A really nice experience!

  During our recent visit to Mirissa, we decided to have a quick lunch at Lantern Boutique Hotel, known for its excellent food. We were truly impressed by the chef's skill and creativity. The service was highly personalized, ensuring a memorable dining experience. One dish that stood out was the seafood burger, arguably one of the best in the region. The hotel is beautifully maintained and offers a luxurious boutique experience. We are eager to recommend it to others and can't wait to return.

Beautifully maintained hotel - rooms were huge and very clean. Magnificent location right on the beach. Staff were extremely accommodating and nothing was too much trouble - in fact going out of their way to prepare breakfast for us after we got back from whale watching. We ate in the restaurant for both nights of our stay and the food was beautiful. Would happily stay here again and recommend.

We had a lovely time here. It’s a very small hotel with only 6 rooms. We had just left a hotel in Ella which was really dirty & when we walked into our room here it was such a delight - everything was absolutely spotless! The beach outside the hotel is also clean & very quiet. The sea is rough so not possible to swim but the pool was lovely. We ate in the restaurant 3 times who was exception once the other 2 times wasn’t the best. Staff were delightful! The hotel is situated on a busy road, beach to the front, road to the back) you do hear the traffic sounding their horns etc but this didn’t worry us. We would recommend & go back if in the area.

Such a friendly ace hotel. The manager is lovely and welcoming. The hotel is superb. Ultra clean, very professional staff and being right on the sea front is ultra eco - showing the guests turtles laying their eggs in the sand, digging up the eggs, taking them to the hatchery and letting them go in the sea when ready. We stayed in the top suite and our every need was accommodated. The food is good too. It is a 30 minute walk out of Marissa, but only a tuktuk away. A great stay.

I'm sitting here in suite 1 gazing over the meticulously landscaped grounds, inviting pool and breathtaking beach as I feel inspired to leave a review. This is one of the most memorable and luxurious experiences we've ever enjoyed, anywhere in the world. From the moment you're greeted by the excitable koi fish to the moment you realise you have more than enough plug sockets beside your bed. It's the small things that the Reveal team and management has thought about, and executed with aplomb. It's not just the small things though. The rooms themselves are effortlessly stylish, totally in character with the surroundings, and well-appointed. The food - led by Chef Gamini - blew me away breakfast, lunch and dinner. The pool is inviting, glistens in the sun, and is equally well-designed as the rest of the property. Some recognition for the grounds/gardening team who do a wonderful job, meticulously tending to the beautiful foliage around the place - some of the palm trees blow my mind. You can walk to the brand's other properties, along the beach, or along the road, all within a 5-10 min walk - and you will be greeted with the same smile in all of them, with the team ready to take care of you, whichever property you're staying in. This is an absolutely a fanatistic base for enjoying Mirissa, Polhena, and Weligama - the former two are within 5-10 minutes by Tuk Tuk. A big thank you to Lakmal (what a star!), Ajith, Kavindu and Ashani. We absolutely cannot wait to return! PS. Every now and again you can hear a vehicle passing by, but it is seldom, and was not an issue in the slightest (especially not at night) during the 5 nights we stayed. Also, to address some other reviewer's comments; the dogs that you may come across on the beach (in fact, across all of Sri Lanka) are few in number, and in fact totally adorable. We spent a lot of time with them whenever we could - especially the puppies.
