The Beach House

We’d walked past several times and the outdoor terrace looked very good .! We had been walking all day and felt like we deserved a treat, stopped off to order food and enjoy a couple of drinks in the early evening sunshine . Actually only had a drink in the end. The furniture was very grubby, tables weren’t cleared, very dirty tables outside and all the condiments and menus were really grubby. The two members of staff outside were bickering and moaning about the work that they had to do to clear the tables and when we asked for ours to be cleaned we were given such a rude response from a really surly waitress that we decided we would drink up and leave. Observations of the waiting staff was also not only a bad attitude; from the waitress who attended our table ; but also of grubby clothes and scruffy appearance, consequently we were really put off by everything the two servers were doing, so we drank our very expensive drinks, and decided we would not place a food order, they didn’t deserve our custom. We also witnessed the manner in which they delivered food to other customers and quite frankly the service in this place on that evening was very very poor.

Just popped in for a light lunch with friends. Now you are asked to order via the QR code on your table or visit the bar. I ordered the soup, via the bar as the QR code system didn't work!! The soup was nice but the stale sourdough bread was abysmal and the kitchen needs to be addressed for allowing such food to be sent out. There was no point complaining as the staff looked like they didn't want to be there and their dress code, well didn't exist. They are obviously allowed to wear whatever clothes they liked. Talk about scruffy. Do young people have no pride in themselves and do we have to be waited on by such unkempt staff. This hotel has seriously seen better days. The last few times have almost been just as bad. We have only visited 3 times in the past 8 months. Each time we have hoped it would improve, but it doesn't. Such a great shame. No one seems to care especially the hierarchy. How they remain open astounds me.

Second stay for us. We had the indulgence room this time. Amazing bathroom and the housekeeping staff were amazing. Didn't expect daily clean. We had dinner in the restaurant first night which was good with friendly service. Wonderful breakfast, good selection Location is perfect for hiking, head for the forest or the coastal path. Bus back from Bournemouth if too much to walk back. Overall a lovely stay and credit to the staff who create a lovely atmosphere.

It was loveliest, better than the pictures. Our room was very cozy with an incredibly comfortable bed and fluffy pillows ( even though you can ask for any type of pillow you prefer) The staff was warm and kind. We only stayed one night but we had a great experience and we highly recommend it. We did not have to wrry about anything.

My Family and I spent 2 nights at the Hotel. The atmosphere was magical with all the beautiful Chrismtas Trees and decorations. The feeling of warmth and friendliness was all around and the Staff made it feel like a home from home. They didn't need to try to make us feel welcome, they just did, effortlessly. Well done to all of you. Have a Great Christmas and hope you manage to get some time off over the festive period. Hall and Woodhouse are lucky to have you!

Have visited on a yearly basis for over 15 years. visited again on the 2nd December for two nights. again in room 8 which has always been very clean. this room is now classed as an Indulgence plus room and prices have increased to account for this. Disappointed to find that the carpet was filthy with a large stain that looked like a dogs patch. The toilet bowl was very stained and there was mould that could be seen on the window sill. Could not walk on carpet without foot covering dude to the stains. I discussed the state of the carpet with a member of staff which I assume was the manager. He acknowledged that they had known about the state of the carpet and were wondering whether to change it. Pointed out it should have been cleaned before being inhabited as they were aware of it. Breakfast experience is also not now a good experience. Full Cost of a stay is now taken when reserving the rooms. no refund if booking has to be cancelled at any time upto the stay unless an insurance is taken out at time of booking.
