The host was very welcoming and spoke fluent English. They provided free tickets to a nearby hot spring, which I visited every day—a rare treat. The guesthouse is located away from the city center, making it very quiet. There is a tram nearby, making it convenient to travel to the city. At night, the surroundings are quite empty and the lighting is dim, but it feels very safe."

"My stay at Monohana was like the cherry blossom bloom in spring. Very beautiful and magical, though over too quickly. It was lovely all the way through and had everything you could want from a ryokan. It’s next to a beautiful river, so I could enjoy the scenery from my room and go for a walk in nature later. The staff is also more than friendly, I felt very welcome there. I will definitely come here again, though hopefully for longer than a day."
