Hotel Loveno 2 star

Great location for a solo traveler. I felt it was close to the city center, safe and they had great food and drinks. Staff were friendly and I enjoyed the privacy I had. There was a neighbor who caused a bit of noise but I understood it was a personal health issue. Totally harmless and I would stay here again. The views are spectacular and if you keep the shades closed during day the fan provided does the trick on hot days. I liked this place :) you can access the town through shortcut allies and public transportation is easy to figure out. I am glad I stayed here instead of town of como, I was much closer to the must sees and it was cheaper. I give it an 8.5/10

Wow what an amazing stay! The hotel was clean, comfortable & perfect for a couple. The hotel was beautiful and not too far from main part of Menaggio (10 minute walk). Make sure to eat at the hotel as the food is some of the best we have had in Italy. Everything is made fresh and tastes amazing. Definitely do the cooking class - it was just an unforgettable experience & we learnt so much about wine & pasta. The staff were amazing & very attentive. The views from the hotel were gorgeous. We will definitely stay back here next time we are in Lake Como!

Hotel Loveno has been the most fantastic experience, amazing hospitality, super neat rooms, delicious food, excellent staff & a beautiful view .. you cannot go wrong with this place. They went out of their way and helped us get to the hotel when the buses didnt show up. They provided us with everything we asked for, even making vegetable food for us. Special thanks to the owner Paulo & the team Gaia, Julia, Mattea & rest , keep up the amazing work, you made our stay so memorable and comfortable. We would blindly recommend a stay here & will love to visit again.. thanks again for the amazing stay!!

Forget about the steep climb to the Hotel, once you arrived you were made to feel so welcome. Paolo and all his staff were superb. The hotel was charming and we literally did have a room with a view! Room 11. A lovely selection of food at breakfast, Dinner is a must as the pasta is excellent. After a wonderful week we was sad to say arrivederci

This was the best hotel during our trip in France and Italy. The staff is so friendly, honest, and welcoming. Hats off to the effort that the family running it and their employees put in to make it such a great stay! Note that this is an older hotel with historical status making complete renovations impossible for the owners, so part of the interior is a bit dated. For us this just added to the charm of the place, but for the "Karen" tourist this won't not do. If you need top notch modern and standard go to the super-expensive hotels in the main Menaggio area and leave this charming hotel for someone else. The rooms do get a bit of noise from other guests and some from the road outside. We were not bothered by this as the other guests were respectful and we had a room away from the road. We absolutely recommend that you do the cooking class they offer. It was an absolute blast and worth the money for a few hours of learning to make two different types of pasta, which they prepare into a meal afterwards and get to eat in their beautiful garden with a bottle of wine. 11/10 experience! The location of the hotel is further up the hillside from the Menaggio ferry station. We loved the walked through Menaggio, but it is not suitcase friendly cobblestone roads. So if you have weak knees or have health issues, take the bus or a taxi. I see that this is one of the usual complaints the hotel gets on here, and it is evident that these people dont read about the hotel before booking (Karens). We will definetly come back next time we visit Como!

We're in our sixties and it had been 8 years since travelling internationally for a vacation so we both assumed very incorrectly A/C would be included when we read on their website "is just to say they have all the basic facilities you can expect." Our bad, we didn't question further so when we arrived it was very warm and the hotel felt extremely warm, humid, and uncomfortable. It was a big letdown to find out no a/c and we actually looked for another place to stay. Glad it wasn't feasible to switch (not without paying huge premiums to find a place with A/C). We were supplied a fan and by the end of the day it had cooled and the location is absolutely beautiful with great views of the lake. It is an old building and the rooms are spartanly appointed but neat and clean. The room we had was sneaky large on the second floor with a balcony and gorgeous lake view. The bathroom is sizeable but tight shower space with good water pressure. There wasn't much typical storage space, but we had a separate first room adjacent to the main bedroom so all of our luggage was easily stored on the single cot in this first room. A hot breakfast was included since we booked directly with the hotel but even without the hot breakfast the continental fare provided was ample with a variety of nice selections. The hotel has a bar and serves dinner (great food!). All of the help is friendly, helpful, and efficient. The biggest highlight of our stay was booking their pasta cooking class run by Paulo, the hotel manager. He was fantastic and we could not have been happier with the information, tutoring, and excellent food provided that evening. Be prepared for elevation changes as central Menaggio is a 10-15 minute walk downhill (so you will be going uphill to get back to the hotel). It was no problem for us, we enjoyed the location and the ferry system on the lake is very efficient so it was easy to visit both Varenna and Bellagio the same day. It's a charming hotel in a wonderful location. If we get back to Menaggio there is no reason to stay anywhere else!
