La Quinta by Wyndham Memphis Primacy Parkway

I have stayed at a few La Quinta Hotels over the years, they have always been clean and well kept. I have no idea what happened to this location. Beer Bottles and Cans in the parking area..I understand that sometimes this could happen. The room was a bit worn, the bathroom had an odor of Natural Gas, I was concerned about my health. The room and the entire facilities showed wear and tear, not clean and not as the others I have stayed at. Ok, then every half hour or so there was a dog barking like right outside of my room. Finally at 12:30 am I went to the person on duty and asked to move my room. They asked what room was the dog barking from? I had now idea but after they told me to get all of my belongings together and come to the desk to get another room, I had heard the dog again when I gathered my things, it was right across from my room. So I informed the person of the room number and they said, "Oh, yes we know who that is", not a great answer. I was wondering why it said it was non cancellable after it was booked....now I know why.

La Quinta Hotel is a disaster zone! The sheets were stained and looked like they hadn't seen a washing machine in ages. The sink was broken, and don't even get me started on the shower. Would never recommend to anyone.

Cannot recommend. Staff were all nice and personable. Outside is run down but I’ve seen worse, then when you first get in the lobby seems decent. However, the hallways, elevators (hazardous), and rooms are completely falling apart and dirty. The first room we were assigned had a door handle that was basically falling off to the point you couldn’t open it. We got reassigned to a different room where the door handle worked but the door stuck so bad you had to shoulder it to get in every time. Both rooms had the sconces falling out of the walls. Our first night we had the pleasure of being woken up to the cops at our door letting us know both of our vehicles had the windows smashed in. Luckily for us, another guest spotted it happening from their window and the people fled…but not before pointing a gun at them. Another car the next morning had signs in all of their windows as a deterrent, so clearly this is an ongoing issue. The location did not seem to be in a bad location, but a run down property is going to attract the wrong people.
