Premier Inn Melton Mowbray

I tried to write this review on 09/08 but missed the email asking me to confirm my review. Stayed on 08/08 in room 112. Arrived at about 7:30pm and paid £130. Woke up at 3am to bed bugs all over the bed. Jumped out my skin and left. Nobody on reception to report this to and didn’t really want to hang around any longer after that. I subsequently saw other reviewed reporting bed bugs and felt compelled to warn everybody away from this place. Absolutely awful. It seems as though they are aware of this but still happy to take your money. No idea how to go about getting my money back.

Can't give 0 stars so had to give 1, this place has completely put me off staying at any premier inns ever again! Where do I even start, so shortly after arriving at the hotel we were all about to set off to sleep, when I spotted what I thought was a bug crawling on the sheets that my 6 year old was sleeping on and with further inspection we found it was a bed bug, so we stripped down the beds and found even more!! Crawling all over the pillows and sheets, NEVER in my whole life have I ever seen something so disgusting. This was just the start of my awful experience with this hotel, soon as we found the bed begs my partner went straight to reception to inform them, they were apologetic but went on to confirm that there had been other rooms that have had the bed bugs in them also and there seems to be a infestation now. My partner asked to be moved into a different room but all rooms were full, the hotel had no other spare rooms for us. At this point it was 1am in the morning, the lady at the reception said she would find us another hotel to transfer over to because this one was full, after 2 hours of waiting for this with no luck we decided to leave around 3am, and book ourselves another hotel ourselves. We had to drive 40 mins away to the nearest hotel that had rooms available, so we were driving around at 3am with 2 children who have had absolutely no sleep at all. We had to pay for this hotel out of our own pocket after already paying over £130 for the room we had booked originally, that was infested. This experience has caused so much stress and anxiety, and both children have been seriously mentally effected by this experience, the event we had booked on Sunday we had to cancel due to all of us being completely exhausted, my daughter was due to compete at a dance competition that she had spent months practicing for. She was devastated we could no longer go due to our experience at this hotel, by the time we got to the new hotel and got to sleep it was 4am. We drove all the way from west wales and our whole trip was ruined, a whole tank of fuel! Dance competition tickets, so much money lost!! All of our belongings can no longer be used due to risk of contaminating our own home, a dance costume that cost £650 that we took into the hotel room which cannot be washed, also cannot be used now due to the risk. Our car has had to be treated now also to limit the risk of spread. We WILL be taking this further, and I would AVOID this hotel at all costs!!! Full of bed bugs!!

Excellent team, welcoming, clean, well presented as we have come to expect from PInn. Breakfasts cooked to order, superb. Evening meal choice very limited compared to others stays at P Inn hotels.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Hotel. It wasn't the first time I've stayed here but now it is spot on. The room was very clean and comfortable, including the bathroom. Everything we needed was there. The T.V., Air conditioning and Wi-Fi worked very well. The bed was a very good size and comfortable. Tea and coffee tray was good and as things got used replacements were available in the reception area. Both cooked and continental breakfasts were excellent, the service good and we found all the staff extremely friendly and very helpful. Found it very relaxing and quiet. Would love to stay again soon!

Trip Advisor Review: Stay in PI regularly. It is what it is. It’s always for work, the beds are decent the rooms spacious and generally for sleeping and leaving they are fine. The only problem with PI is occasionally you have to interact with a human being that works for them. On arrival the desk was unmanned. This is usual. A member of staff called Casey saw me, ignored me and carried on assumedley completing closing checks in a folder. I pressed the button to request assistance. The issue was the on site parking was all occupied. Me not being from the area meant I was not sure if / where I could park. After some minutes Casey shouted across are you ok, “I’ve pressed the buzzer for assistance” “I don’t have the buzzer on me” she shouted “Does someone” I asked “You can check in on the screen” she shouted “Does someone want to come over and talk to me” “What about” “Regarding the car park being full” “Park in the street” “Is that your onsite parking” “We have onsite parking” “Where is it for my car” “Are you being rude” Me incredulous. “no” Casey “just as well” Now I get it’s not the greatest job in the world,but when your staff are actively baiting the general well meaning public into a row you’ve got an issue PI. I checked in via grunts from Casey, was handed my key. I left the hotel and parked my car in the photo. I hope it’s there in the morning. I hope Casey isn’t. PI - great till you need to interact with a member of their team or if you don’t want to park your car on crack alley.

This was one of the smallest premiere inn we have stayed at however, it was perfect! They have lots of family games avaliable in the restaurant/bar area so my husband and I were able to enjoy a drink after twinlakes whilst playing games with our son. The breakfast is the best we have ever eaten anywhere! Everything was cooked fresh to order. I had the best sleep ive had in a long time the beds are soooo comfy! Thank you for a lovely stay Melton!
