We stayed here during a hike through the region. Amazing. There are shared bathrooms and showers (but you knew that already) and no AC which seems to be the standard in CH. Dinner and breakfast were both excellent. The beds were perfect and the linens were clean. The folks who run the inn were welcoming and warm. The views are amazing and you'll hear the bells on the cows ringing in the distance. They made us a bag lunch to take with us and it was my favorite sandwich of the whole trip.

My wife and I recently stayed at this Chalet for one night. The location was fantastic, the rooms were clean and the staff were very friendly. We stayed as part of a 10-day self-guided hike tour. We had dinner and breakfast at the chalet, both were absolutely delicious. I would highly suggest making this part of your vacation. There are many trails located nearby too.

The Chalet Schwarzwaldalp is a simple mountain hut happily situated in a pristine alpine setting. (Right near the real-life “Reichenbach Falls,” site of the fictitious Sherlock Holmes/Professor Moriarty tussle to the death!) The rooms are simple, with shared bathrooms, and that’s just fine. The food is very good. The hosts are friendly albeit a bit weary, which I suppose is fair given the work involved with all this hospitality. We stayed at this hotel at the beginning of a week-long inn-to-inn walking trip in the wonderful Bernese Oberland. We loved it.

We were 2 adults, 3 teenagers and a dog, hiking from Sarnen to Grindelwald. On day two we slept over at this Chalet. Very friendly staff, good service, good food and breakfast. Rooms basic but clean. 30min walk from Rosenlaui. Bus connections to Meiringen as well as Grindelwald. Dogs allowed. Secluded hotel surrounded by cows (with bells) :-)

Um meinen Geburtstag zu feiern, sind wir mit 10 Personen für Skitouren auf die Schwarzwaldalp gekommen - und waren restlos begeistert. Das Essen war sehr raffiniert und lecker. Auf diversen Sonderwünsche haben die Gastwirte souverän reagiert und an meinem Geburtstag haben sie sogar einen Kuchen hergezaubert. Auch die Tatsache, dass wir selber ein Bierfass mitbringen durften, hat uns sehr gefreut. Lustigerweise meinten sie zuerst, wir hätten eine Gasflasche dabei...

Wunderschöne und ruhige Lage. Sehr aufmerksamer und freundlicher Service. Ausgezeichnetes Essen. Einfache, aber grosszügige Doppelzimmer. Ideal als Übernachtungsort auf einer Velotour. Wir haben es genossen und werden es weiter empfehlen!

Die Geburtstagsfeier mit dem Übertritt in den neuen Lebensabschnitt von Cornelia mit der ganzen Familie war Dank dem vom Feinsten zubereiteten Essen unter der Leitung von Johann, den freundlichen Servicemitarbeitenden und den Helfern im Hintergrund ein voller Erfolg! Melanie alles passte perfekt wie vorgesprochen!

Wir haben unseren Silvester dort gefeiert und es war für uns alle wunderschön und wir können es nur weiter empfehlen. Von der Anfahrt (mit dem netten und lustigen Bus Chauffeur) bis zur Chalet Crew waren alle sehr freundlich, die Küche super fein (auch sehr schön angerichtet und wie im 5 Sterne Restaurant) und alles sehr sauber. Preis / Leistung absolut TOP und wir kommen gerne wieder.
