Meikleour Arms Hotel & Restaurant

We stayed in the Walled Garden Cottages. Wonderful. Lovely walks around the locale and an easy stroll to the hotel where we had both breakfast and dinner. All the food was superb. Terrific staff were the icing on the cake. Absolutely will return.

Their staff was friendly. The Victorian decor was a bit on the dated side. The room had water, tea, coffee, sherry and a couple of biscuits in the room, but room lacked ISB ports. We were in the “Flauhaut” superior room. Our room faced the road, and it could get loud. It was quiet when it was quiet, but you are right on the road. Shower was super slippery. It did have the largest shower head that I’ve ever seen…good stuff. Make sure you put the bathmat in there. Restaurant was extremely good for dinner and breakfast. Best hotel dinner we had in Scotland. Lure is their local beer.

We visited for a family birthday lunch. Eight of us and baby Harris. Emma and Jack served us beautifully and were attentive and eager to help. A lovely lunch. Food was superb, the wine range is limited but the wines on the list are good. A nice fire in our room made for a comfortable atmosphere. We will definitely be back

We have just left after a lovely 2 night stay in the Isla room. It was really excellent. The room was very comfortable as was the bed and all kept spotlessly clean by the excellent Gillian. The main hotel is welcoming, warm and comfortable and the staff are all friendly and professional. A special call out for lovely Mandy in the restaurant. Overall we cannot fault this hotel. We had a lovely time and are really happy we chose to stay here

I have been going to this pub for 47 years on and off. On Sunday I went for lunch with my son and after we shared our starters, pigeon breast and Scotch egg, I was disappointed with the pigeon as it was very tough and came cut in cubes?? The pork parcel thing wasn't much better with what can only be described as baby sick over pastry and dry pork. I complained that day, we ate what we could palate and I paid the £86, they didn't charge for the one sweet, whoopee. So late that night my son calls me and says he's ill, I was also stuck to the toilet house spewing. After a visit to a doctor I was given meds for food poisoning. I called the Meiklour Arms 4 times and left emails but after 4 days I received no reply. So I drove the 20mls to see someone face to face. All I was met with was the rudest woman ive ever encountered who said there was nothing wrong with the food and its funny how nobody else fell ill? What? Did we all share the same pigeon? Yet she was adamant there was nothing wrong with the food cause they checked it! Hahaha so you ate some of it too to just check it? No, I'm sorry this is not how you treat customers who have been going to your place spending lots of money and never had a complaint before..ignorant, stuck up snobbish BS! Avoid this place, Fawley towers at its best.

Just back from a two night stay at the Hotel. Really warm friendly welcome from all staff, food and service both in the bar and restaurant was perfect. Breakfast in the morning was so good too. This Hotel is great for a quiet, relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle, would recommend. .
