Meikleour Arms Hotel & Restaurant

We have just returned for another stay here. I cannot ever explain the feeling of coming here. Coming here you know it's total relaxation with the best staff looking after you. We stayed in stable 3 this time and it didn't disappoint, just as beautiful as the others we have been in. From arriving to leaving we were so looked after. Dinner in the courtyard was just fabulous and the decoration was just gorgeous. Food and wine exceptional and service just outstanding. We love the breakfast possibly the best we've had anywhere and our picnic that they arranged was just perfect....I hate to leave but cannot wait to be back again. Thank you

This is a beautiful place. The menu is quite traditional (Sunday roast, gastro pub starters etc). They didn’t have any vegan options in the menu but we called ahead and they confirmed that they would have something. Just as well I’m not fussy as I only had one starter and main option. They did have quite a few gluten free options though. The staff were friendly and helpful and all in all, we had a really nice lunch

We stayed in the Walled Garden Cottages. Wonderful. Lovely walks around the locale and an easy stroll to the hotel where we had both breakfast and dinner. All the food was superb. Terrific staff were the icing on the cake. Absolutely will return.

What a wonderful overnight stay. The hotel is delightful, the room we stayed in (The Murray) was beautifully decorated and the bed was very comfortable. Arran Aromatics toiletries, the homemade shortbread and sherry were all nice touches too. Our friends stayed in The Lansdowne and this room on the ground floor was also really nice. Our meal in the restaurant was great and the walks we enjoyed down to the river were very enjoyable. All in all a superb night away to catch up with friends.

My parents booked the restaurant for my 50th birthday. Drove 50 mins from Memus to get there, on arrival there was no power so we were sent away. We asked for a drink which was refused even though 2 members of staff were enjoying a drink in the garden, my mother phoned the following day to speak to the manager who wasn’t available, still waiting on the call back. How disappointing the whole experience was, completely understand that the loss of power is out with their control, but cancelling the booking 2 hours after we arrived is really not good enough. I understand that the booking info was on the computer but refusing a drink (which in my view should have been complimentary) was not nice, we drove a long way to get there for a very special occasion and not even an apology is disgusting! Shame on you, we won’t be back ever. Erik Smyth

Just been with my partner and mother in law. They didn’t put mash on the duo duck so had to send it back. The roast lamb dinner was cold and when they brought a replacement the Yorkshire pudding was burnt. Bun on the burger had been over toasted and was solid and too hard to eat. Second visit, first one the food was amazing but after this visit there will not be third.
