Landmark Hotel

The pool is closed and we have kids and friends that cannot enjoy the amenities paid for in the high price. Nobody offered our group anything to compensate for this. And to top it all, all the staff seem to have a nasty eye toward African Americans. But I’m talking US born African Americans. It’s like we are weird or foreign to them even though they have an African ethnic group here. The hotel is on the restaurant side plagued by constant noise from the construction nest door and when they open the gym the bugs get in and bite. I mean big bugs, for real. Did not feel welcomed or cared for. Nasty experience in my honest opinion.

If you fall prey to the online sponsorship of this hotel you will be met with not one but a series of disappointments, not to say the least is the horrendous atmosphere. First, the hotel failed to alert us that the swimming pool was being repaired while we stayed and only when we mentioned our wish to cancel did they upgrade us to an extremely dangerous room with a loft. And that is the second point. The hotel is built on a hill that overlooks nasty surrounding construction without secrecy or privacy partitions. So the neighborhood can see inside the hotel and there is no privacy. Third the “upgraded” rooms have 45 degree, no joke, staircase that is unprotected by two sets of rails. If you fall, you can easily break a bone or worse, fall out the balcony and break the glass. Fourth, the restaurant has atrocious food, and they don’t even know it. I had the chicken pasta only to find crumbled Cheetos in the mix. Yes. Cheetos. And when I substituted the burger, they gave me one McDonald’s size patty for $15.00 US dollars. I mean. The nerve they have to serve that food. And last but not least. Be careful doing business or employee recruiting on the premises. If you bring anyone. I mean if you took anyone to your room (not overnight) just temporarily they will charge you CP 400,000.00 which is the equivalent of $100.00. And they will insult you and your guest by unfairly and inappropriately citing the “sexual exploitation” policy in front of your guest. Yes. We lost recruiting a new receptionist this way. And by the way they don’t have a business center to do business. I guess it’s just a scheme to force you into the restaurant to do business and consume their paltry food. And if you don’t then they charge another $100 bucks if you do business in your room, so their pockets get far. Stay away from this dump. It’s not a family hotel or a business hotel. It’s just a gimmick in my opinion.

We chose the Landmark Hotel based on the location and price and the hotel was a great place to stay for three nights. The hotel is modern and comfortable near to shops and restaurants and has a rooftop swimming pool too. The room was a queen with balcony which was an ok size and was clean and comfortable and had water on tap too. The staff were all really helpful and friendly and although breakfast was not included we had a tasty breakfast served in the pleasant area downstairs. With the location, price and friendly staff we would be happy to stay there again.

Really nice hotel. Very good nightly rates I thought it might be too good to be true, but it lived up to and exceeded expectations. It’s a modern hotel with all the conveniences of a much more expensive alternative but you really could not want better. Rooms were clean and well appointed. Staff were friendly and efficient. The only slight draw back was the restaurant and bar arrangement. It’s all a bit Student Union orientated. The restaurant closed at 8 one night. Definitely aimed at young and trendy, but being neither I still liked it.

The Landmark Hotel was a perfect place for us to stay in Medellin. The hotel itself is beautiful, and in a nice area of Medellin. Within easy walking distance to cafes and other attractions. We stayed in the loft room which gave us extra room for our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teens), it even had 2 bathrooms! The lower part is a little small, not much room for suitcases but we managed fine the loft separation was nice for the family. Also the concierge was very helpful with setting up tours and giving recommendations for restaurants. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed this hotel. It’s in a great safe location, plenty of restaurants nearby. The rooms are well appointed, including a water filler in the room. The staff are great, we even had a massage which was amazing as well. The pool is a great place to chill, have a beer, meet fellow travellers although it needs more seating. I think maybe only 6 sun beds which get filled quickly. Only a slight niggle, but you can’t put additional spends on your room, so drinks on the rooftop, breakfast downstairs or a massage all have to paid for directly. Which means you always have to carry cash or credit cards with you. But this is minor, we loved the vibe, the people and will return
