Terrible experience at this hotel. After a less than friendly welcome our group was issued with less than half the keycards required for the number of paying guests. This meant members of our group were unable to access the premises and were stuck outside in freezing temperatures unable to access the room. When we took this up with the hotel staff we were told it was ‘impossible’ to issue each guest with a card with no further explanation given. Whilst staying in the hotel my leg was badly bitten by bedbugs causing lots of bumps and irritation (photo attached). Despite paying a premium for cleaning, our room was not cleaned at any point during our stay and we were not replenished with clean towels or toilet paper. The reception desk is only manned for a few hours a day which makes it difficult to check in and out or raise issues. Worst of all, when we left we were presented with a bill for minor damage to a wardrobe door in our hotel which we did not cause and the hotelier refused to let us recover our bags until over £400 was paid. This behaviour is at total difference to the atmosphere at Mahyrhoffen which is normally very warm and friendly to visitors, our group has stayed at many of establishments here before without issue. There are plenty of options for places to stay in the village, please don’t make the mistake of choosing this one.

On arrival, the host was less than welcoming and appeared not to have smiled since 1976. The rooms are small and for a party of eight very cramped, with two of our group sharing a small sofa bed in the kitchen. The owners were also reluctant to let us have additional key cards for the room despite a large group, which meant that often members of the group were locked out or waiting for someone to open the door. The room was not serviced throughout the trip with no fresh towels or toilet roll provided. On checking out we were preseted with a bill for €420 for damage to a wardrope door, that had functioned fine as a wardrope door for the entire period of our stay. And given no choice but to pay as the owner held our bags hostage. The location is also awful right by a garage and at the bottom of town. So can be noisy, a significant walk to the ski lift on a daily basis. There will be far nicer and friendly places to stay in town - Avoid.

So to start with we turned up and couldn’t get access to the apartment as reception isn’t ever manned we had to call a number for someone to let us in. Owner didn’t seem overly friendly. Next problem we had was there was 7 of us all doing different things and the only gave us 3 key cards although she said she had given us 4, couldn’t get more. Next problem was 7 men in the same apparently skiing, there was no fresh towels and they replaced toilet rolls. On check out all seemed good they gave us somewhere to store our kit and gave us our deposit back, on returning for kit after skiing the owner had held it hostage saying the room was damaged, this damage was a wardrobe door which had been a bit loose but nothing major, on checking wardrobe the wardrobe door was completely off and the owner wanted 410 euro to repair it. This seems like a bit of a scam as we didn’t break the door, this will probably be badged again for the next unsuspecting group! She seemed very verse at saying “it will be fine you can claim off your insurance here is a bill.”On looking at google reviews this isn’t the first time this has happened to people. Avoid this place or be very aware! I could buy the wardrobe for this price, she made up the repair cost from an old bill from 2016 and added 10% for inflation. Absolute joke.

Modern,goed gelegen ,super saunacomplex en zeer vriendelijke uitbaters . Een echte aanrader. Ideale vertrekpunt om get stadje te bezoeken, niet ver van de 2 verschillende bergliften. Ook heel dicht bij het zillerthal station.

Zeer mooi hotel en goed gelegen! Echter zeer ontevreden over de gastvrijheid. Geen aangename interactie met medewerkers en geen enkele moeite om te helpen. Hier zien ze ons nooit meer terug. Eerste onaangename ervaring in een nochtans sympathieke Mayrhofen.
