Logis Au Grand Hotel

Booked a one-night stay at Le Grand Hôtel de Mayenne as suggested by Stephen Ambrose Historical Tours in conjunction with SAHT's "Footsteps of Patton" tour in June 2032. The hotel is located in northwestern France and is part of the region of Pays de la Loire, about 30 km northeast of Mont St. Michel. My room was spacious, well-lit, and clean. The bed was comfortably firm, air temperature likewise was comfortable, and the room permitted open windows with screens. Not sure why there were no USB ports, and there was no evidence that the hotelier still supplied hand towels to guests who use the room's bathroom. Both seemed like an odd choice when cutting corners (presumably to save the hotel money). Otherwise, linen and towels were clean and in good supply. The bathroom was well-provisioned, well lit, and included a very nice towel warmer. There's a pretty steep step in order to get into the tub, but there's a well-placed hand-hold that made it safe for me to get in and out of the tub for showering. There's signage encouraging short showers - not a bad idea. The hotel continues to rely on single-use plastics in the room, something we can hope will change over time. All in all, however, I had no complaints about my stay at Le Grand Hôtel de Mayenne.

The hotel is good value for money, the location is great, right next to the river and a few minutes walk into town. The rooms are comfortable and the buffet breakfast is excellent. Unfortunately, I had someone opposite playing very loud music in the middle of the night, I rang the hotel (I hadn't expected anyone to answer) and within seconds the music had stopped. We ate in the restaurant, which is excellent.

It is difficult to imagine how the team at this hotel could have done more to help us when we stayed during a cycling trip. As an example, leaving early in the morning, before the normal breakfast start time, the team prepared a breakfast tray the night before including a mini fridge filled with hams, cheeses yoghurts etc.. Every single member of staff was so nice and supportive. Add to this the well appointed room, the wonderful character and history of the hotel, which all added up to a truly memorable and enjoyable stay.

Deuxième visite dans ce restaurant, très bien situé avec un parking privatif à la porte. La maison est très bien tenue, tout est décoré avec simplicité mais avec beaucoup de goût. Pour la Saint Valentin, nous avons choisi des menus différents et tout était parfait entre la présentation des produits et la qualité des mets. C'est très bon et surtout ce qui doit être chaud l'est! On peut prendre son temps pour appréciern les produits de qualité de la cuisine sûrement un chef qui maîtrise les techniques du métier. Un service attentionné et souriant. La prochaine visite est déjà prévue même si nous faisons 50 km pour venir. A recommander sans hésitations. Rapport qualité prix excellent.

Nous avons déjeuné au restaurant de cet hôtel (mais pas de chambre réservé). La qualité du repas était impeccable, on a juste ce qu'il faut dans l'assiette avec des goûts travaillés, que ce soit l'entrée le plat ou le dessert. Tout ça pour un prix très raisonnable. Le service est dans les temps et avec le sourire. Bref je viens souvent à Mayenne et dommage que je n'ai pas connu cette adresse avant. A recommander sans hésiter.

Du personnel accueillant et serviable, un parking accessible et sécurisé, chambre propre, spacieuse et bien équipée, grande salle de bain avec wc séparé, literie confortable, animaux accepté sans supplément. UN HOTEL PARFAIT

Très bon hôtel. Les chambres et la salle de bain sont très propres. Les matelas vraiment parfaits, ainsi que les oreillers.petits biscuits d accueil avec une bouilloire pour le café lyophilisé et le thé, ainsi que 2 petites bouteilles d'eau. Les doubles vitrages isolent bien du bruit de la rue principale. Un établissement à recommander

Connais cet hÔtel depuis mon enfance : quasi soixante ans ! Passant devant tous les jours (regardant à chaque fois les poissons rouges alors dans le petit bassin bleu derrière la grille) jusqu'à mon départ pour Laval puis Rouen après le bac, puis Varengeville-sur-mer près de Dieppe après le diplôme final. Toujours la même superbe classe d'Hôtel-Restaurant ; là je suis venu me ressourcer : revoir où je suis né, mes écoles, le lycée A. Paré, le jardin de la Perrine, la chapelle du Hec, celle de Montaigu, Fontaine Daniel, le chemin du halage, un bain à Coco-plage au soleil couchant, etc.L'excellent repas de midi avec les Anciens de la Coopérative de La Beuvinière ce 25 mai : émouvant. Belle situation face à la rivière, avec un parking privé. Excellent accueil à l'hôtel et au restaurant de l'hôtel. Belle chambre spacieuse et excellente literie. propreté irréprochable. Excellent restaurant avec vue sur la rivière.
