Harbour Inn Design Townhouse

Fantastic location Our room was beautiful, perfect for us. We loved having our own fridge. Everything was perfect, location, very clean, very helpful and lovely staff, always there if you needed anything. If you didn't want to walk then there is a lovely restaurant next door, it's part of the same building but a separate business. Located outside the cruise terminal, straight in front. Breakfast was included and located around the corner at Eurostar hotel, buffet style and help yourself, it was very good and a great selection. There were also biscuits & cakes you could help yourself to at the guest house. We could not fault this place and would highly recommend it. Regards Suzie & Mark

We stayed at the Harbor Inn in Matosinhos for 8 days in February. Sara is the best host! She made sure we were taken care of. We had a nice, spacious 2 room suite with a balcony. Breakfast included at the restaurant was listed as Continental breakfast, but was more like all you could ever want. Fresh rolls, pastries, ham, cheese, fruit, eggs, juice and coffee. Restaurant staff were welcoming. Short walk to the beach, and plenty of nearby restaurants. Short walk into town center, easy bus ride to Porto. Parking on the street below was free - unusual for the area.

Harbour Inn Design Townhouse is absolutely incredible. We stayed at this Inn during the end of our stay in Europe and it was the best lodging we had. The staff was incredibly hospitable, even to welcome us at the door when we had an early flight arrival. The staff is also incredibly communicative and provides simple and straightforward instructions for a swift check-in. One lovely surprise is that they serve breakfast. On our departing day, our flight was scheduled before breakfast was served. The staff delivered breakfast the night before so that we would not leave hungry. The accommodations were clean, well stocked, and comfortable. I will be coming back to Harbour Inn Design Townhouse on my next trip to Porto.

It is hard to recommend a Home, since this is more a cosy Home than a tourist hotel! It is beautifully designed and perfectly managed. The writing on the wall accurately states “here we don’t welcome tourists, instead we make new friends.” Without exaggeration Paula and Sara run this business as your friends or even family members. The Hotel is easily accessible by Porto metro, since the Matosinhos Sul (Zone 3) stop is just at a 5-7 minutes walking distance if you arrive here anywhere from Porto. The airport is at a 15 minute driving distance and taxis request only 17 euros. The room prices are very good. Direct booking at the hotel webpage is advised, since it is safe, easy and I believe, best price guaranteed. The surrounding area is quiet and nice. The huge public beach of Atlantic ocean with golden sand is just near the Hotel. The beach area was not equipped with sun lounges and umbrellas, but had lots of people in June swimming, playing and getting sunburned. Breakfasts are served right there in the same building, which is also a restaurant good for lunch and dining, especially for fresh fish food. Several other restaurants, beach cafes and pizzerias, grocery stores are just nearby. Breakfasts are somewhat modest, non buffet and served at your table directly. At an early check out breakfasts are delivered even to your room thanks to the courtesy of the management. We had booked a family room, which was the largest room available there and which easily accommodated two adults and two kids in two separate rooms. The room was located on the high first floor and in reality was the second floor of the building with a balcony overlooking the street and port area. Although right on the street, we felt absolutely no noise from outside, except very little screaming of floors from upstairs and corridors of the Hotel. Beds were comfortable, rooms modern and clean, local air-conditioning available. Thanks to high communication skills of Paula we had all the needed information and the check-in done prior to our arrival there. Indeed here we found friends and felt an attractive family atmosphere!
