Pilanesberg Private Lodge

I had booked a weekend through the webpage. The booking confirmation listed 2 game drives per day were included in the package price as well as a few other things. But when we paid the balance of our booking we were told the game drives were not included. This meant we had to pay another R6000 on top of our original booking price. Although the lodge was lovely and they looked after my guests very well, this left a bad taste and spoiled my otherwise perfect weekend.

My wife and I chose Pilanesberg Private Lodge for our 25th anniversary getaway and boy, did it hit the mark! From the get-go, the team here made us feel right at home with their warm welcomes and cool drinks. Our room was a comfy retreat with a cool outdoor shower, a bath, and aircon for the sunny afternoons. They even packed us some grub for the game drives! Speaking of game drives, our guide Karel was simply outstanding. His knack for nature and the way he shared stories about the animals, trees, and everything in-between was super engaging and full of detail. Not the normal information that you can google, but information based on what the animals were doing and why. It's clear he's in love with what he does and that just made our safaris in Black Rhino Reserve and Pilanesberg National Park all the more special. What really sealed the deal for us was the personal touch this place has. It's not your run-of-the-mill tourist spot – it’s quieter, less crowded, and feels a bit more exclusive. We got to see a bunch of animals up close, even a couple of lions and a black rhino! The meals were on point, and the two game drives each day kept us on our toes. Highly recommend Pilanesberg Private Lodge if you’re looking for a chill spot with a personal touch, good food, and some wild adventures. My wife and I flew all the way from Australia to celebrate our 25th anniversary at Pilanesberg Private Lodge, and we couldn't be happier with our choice.
