Comfort Inn & Suites

This was my first time staying at The Comfort Inn. The hotel had been recently remodeled. It was clean and the staff was friendly. I have family in Mason City and Minneapolis and visit every couple of months. It was very affordable and I really appreciate it since I spend quite a bit on gas while traveling. I will for sure be staying here again.

Checkin was quick and easy. The staff was friendly. The breakfast area was clean and maintained. The hotel main floor looked to be remodeled. Our room was clean and newly renovated. There was also good water pressure. We were very happy with our stay.

Well maintained and spacious hotel. As a diamond Choice member, I travel extensively in my business. This Comfort Inn is in a very good location that is close to restaurants and interstates. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Room was excellent in all ways as you would expect for a well rated hotel. They have changed over from a Quality Inn and now are proving themselves to be on the rise as one of Choices top rated Comfort Inn facilities in Iowa. Stay, relax and enjoy! No disappointments for this traveler!

Clean comfortable room for a decent price. I had a couple of special requests. Both were honored. One was to be near the elevator, and I was. Breakfast was typical for a Comfort Inn and Suites. It was good. Parking lot was very crowded. I would definitely stay again if I needed a hotel for overnight in the area.

Hotel was recently renovated. Rooms were clean and well decorated. Pool was warm and also recently redone. Staff was helpful and friendly, only thing I would improve is breakfast. They had a typical selection ( cereals, waffles, breads) except there was no fruit and only decaffeinated tea.

I travel in a crew around the country doing work. We're not picky about the hotels we stay at, we just hope for a few select things. And honestly this hotel failed at most of them. It was not mentioned when I called that half of the hotel is under construction, while not impacting us directly it just lent itself to an overall disheveled and trashy look. The breakfast leaves much to be desired and during breakfast hours it is hard to find a clean table. The laundry room was out of service and as someone who travels for work, this is a must have. The rooms were kind of gross with many strange stains on the lampshades. The beds were uncomfortable, and sleeping at night was not that much better as my windows had major gaps around the seams leaving multiple 2 inch openings into my room. If you've never been to Iowa, just know the flies are something else here, all those openings around my window were letting them all in. The staff has a very disheveled look as well, while they were nice, it worries me and who knows how many others when one of the attendants is walking around with two black eyes. While they were pleasant, it was worrisome about the caliber of people in the hotel. The walls are paper thin, I spent most nights being able to hear every single word my neighbor would utter, sometimes into the early morning. When I called and asked about quiet hours, I got a very reluctant response of "we'll check it out". They never did, most nights I would lay awake waiting for my neighbor to quit angrily playing video games until 2 or 3 in the morning. Just stay away from this hotel.
