Sheraton Westport Chalet Hotel St. Louis

My mother taught me that when I don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all ;) Time for a renovation!! there's very little to share as much of the accommodations were dated and in need of updating. The bathroom had mold, the ceilings were in need of paint, the carpet was dated and sticky. Bathroom caulk was sad. It's time for renovations !!

I stayed here and of course it's dated, what Sheraton Hotel anywhere isn't, but I enjoyed the balcony's in the rooms, the decent size outdoor swimming pool, the quasi-shopping center in which it's located and the free parking. At least you know what you get here from the outset.

I wouldn't willingly stay here again. It smells weird and feels dated. The fridge in the room smelled like something died in it and when we said something to management, they sent somebody in to 'fix' it. This means they sprayed something so strongly scented into the fridge it flavored the food we tried to put in it. We talked to management again and they sent someone up to replace the appliance. Turns out the plugged in cords were broken and not connected. Then the air conditioner went out. They sent someone up to replace the air conditioner. The phone in the room didn't work. The exhaust fan in the bathroom didn't work and the rest of the bathroom wasn't clean. The tv was old and the remote only worked if you stood in one place and pointed it at a specific spot. Apparently the people in the next room got theirs to work because they blasted it all night long. The bathroom was cramped and grungy. The carpet was dirty. The continental breakfast they put out is not free but they don't tell you that and it's pricey. The staff is super nice though. They have a free shuttle to the airport and they do put out free, fresh coffee in the morning. It's too bad, this could be a sweet little hotel. As is, it's just not worth the money.

I've stayed a lot of places for business meetings, but this would be a favorite. Complementary shuttle to and from the airport. Complementary Starbucks coffee available in the lobby every morning. The breakfast buffet does not change from day to day, but the price is very reasonable. The rooms are spacious, clean, and some updates. Wonderful facilities for recreation. Restaurant options very close by and an easy walk.

This place is old and needs renovation. While there are plans to remodel the rooms, there are bigger problems. The front desk staff needs to be replaced or trained. My room was old and tired but not dirty. However, the biggest problem I had is that there was something wrong with my thermostat. It worked the first night, but around 8 am, the window unit began blowing extremely hot air. The thermostat was unresponsive. When I got back to my room around lunch time, the room was so hot, I couldn’t stand being there . I informed the front desk employee, which was the same one who checked me in (rude and didn’t care about customer satisfaction at all. I travel often and she was awful.) She told me they’d fix it that afternoon. When I got back to my room at 10 pm, it wasn’t fixed and after waiting 20 minutes for someone to come, he confirmed it was close to 100 degrees in the room. He was able to fix it, but I didn’t get to sleep until midnight. My Bonvoy room credits are also missing so now I have to call back multiple times to deal with that. A cluster from start to finish. The only reason this isn’t a one star review is that the bartender was awesome. I don’t know his name but he was great. The waitress in the breakfast area was also good.

Old and worn out, really could use a refresh. Fixtures are dingy, handles on the faucets didn't match (hot was one finish, cold was another), bathtub finish was peeling. They put me on the Club level with a door immediately next to the Club (which I did not have access to....while my key worked in the door, there was a hotel employee in the room guarding it) and the Club guests were loud and disruptive. If Club guests are going to be loud, at least let me have an apple. Front desk staff was lovely. Nearby food options were just so-so, but nice to have immediately available.
