Martinborough Top 10 Holiday Park

We stayed for one night and were impressed with the standard of the 2 room cabin we stayed in. It was very clean, the beds were comfortable and had extra blankets provided as well as heaters (necessary as whilst spring, the night temperature dropped significantly!). I liked the fact there was a little deck with a table and chairs we could use for a relax whilst having a cuppa! Hilary was working on reception when we arrived and went out of her way to help; when I queried the distance to walk to the bathrooms from the cabin we'd been assigned, she offered a cabin closer to the shared facilities which worked well for our needs. I had not specifically asked for this but was pleased to be offered the change. We did not use the shared kitchen as we ate out in Martinborough for dinner and left before breakfast time the following day so I cannot comment on those facilities. There are 2 bbq available for guests to use. The shared female bathrooms were clean and the showers were good in terms of having hot water in plentiful supply. My previous experience of a Top 10 holiday park earlier in the year during peak season was that the showers were on timers and the amount of hot water available varied, sometimes not running more than tepid! Martinborough Top 10 request you limit your shower time due to water restrictions which is understandable. There is a swimming pool next door to the holiday park which we were told is open from November to March and free for guests to use. I think this would be a great asset to a stay here as the children's play area is very small (but not outrageously so considering the overall size of the holiday park). The location of the holiday park is great for Martinborough main square; walking or cycling distance for those wanting to leave the car behind. On our next visit we will bring bikes so we can explore the area. I saw a bike storage area near reception but did not enquire about this - they might have been hire bikes rather than guests bikes. I liked the feel of this holiday park and would visit for a long weekend type stay rather than a main holiday length stay.

Stayed here for two nights in a powered campervan site. Staff really friendly and we hired bikes from the site for a very reasonable price to tour the vineyards. Facilities super new and modern, lovely warm showers with heated building and bathrooms. Hot water on tap in kitchen for instant tea and coffee in the mornings. Beautiful spot with so many birds and birdsong in the mornings. Peaseful and wonderful stay. Free wifi with average speed.

Excellent facilities at a surprisingly cheap rate for a single. I have a Top 10 card so I'm not sure how much it would be without one. Everything is spotlessly clean and the check in was straight forward and friendly. Fantastic showers with good water pressure and no extra charge to use. Laundry facilities were also clean, well lit and modern. Compared to other options around, this is certainly the best. Minor downside is that it's a bit of a walk to town but I noticed there are bikes for hire.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Great place to stay, facilities are new and clean. showers are free with great water pressure and good supply of hot water. Laundry facilities helpful on a wet day. Booked to park Motorhome on metal lots, very helpful with wet weather.

How is it possible to get good reviews with such limited facilities for such a big camping ground ? And be a top 10 park. 20 units, plus significant power and tent sites and only 4 female and 4 male toilets and 4 showers each !! And the kitchen - 2 - 2 double electric hot plates and 3 microwaves - seriously ?? And 2 gas BBQ’S outside - great cooking in the rain Refrigeration - 2 old fridge freezers - that’s it - nothing else. Top 10 - U must be kidding !!! On the positive side - friendly staff at reception and the facilities are clean. Location is on the outside of town - walkable to town - 20 minutes.

We stopped for one night in our camper van and ended up staying for two. Highly recommended. A walk to the square where there are some great places to dine. A visit to the Vineyards was a great experience. We will return.
