I had booked a one-night stay for my daughter and her friends, and I was certain I had booked from Saturday, March 1st, to March 2nd. I sent the deposit via Revolut, and everything seemed fine up to that point. I made the booking over the phone, and to be fair, I never asked for a booking confirmation – that was my mistake. When Saturday arrived, they went to check in, only to be told that the booking was actually for the previous night. I called the owner, but he kept insisting that he had tried calling me and couldn’t reach me. However, when I asked him to show me the call log as proof, he refused. When I asked for the deposit back, he said he couldn’t refund it because it was our fault. He didn’t even have the decency to try and offer them an alternative solution. Unfortunately, they lost their entire night out since we couldn’t find another place for them to stay. It’s not about the €50 deposit, but about the way we were treated. Be careful, because they might do the same to you, especially during busy periods. It really felt like a scam.
