Unfortunately we had an unpleasant experience at the Agafay tents. I was very excited to be spending my milestone Birthday here, prior to the visit we had a few wonderful days at another hotel in Marrakech. So you can imagine how disappointing it was to arrive at a freezing cold tent, we did try to be optimistic and hoped for a bit of warmth in the dining room tent however this was also very cold. Returning to our tent which had absolutely no heating whatsoever, we were presented with a Luke warm hot water bottle. We tried to get comfortable in bed, but this was impossible as it was so cold so at 10PM the same evening my husband went to reception to say that we were so cold and we were unable to sleep and could not possibly spend 5 nights under these inhabitable conditions, no solution was offered! The cold night in the tent continued, all of us in the foetal position trying to keep warm, it got worse and I had crippling stomach pains after eating in the restaurant not wanting to move due to the cold. To add insult to injury a Camel proceeded to snore the whole night through! At 2am in the morning we decided to reschedule our flights to fly home the next day as it was so inhospitable we felt we had no choice. It’s also worth noting that the third bed is very hard almost like a pallet, my daughter had bad back ache in the morning. The shower was freezing cold so no way to get clean without making yourself even colder! We see ourselves as fair people and were happy to pay for our one night stay and our expenses used, but due to the inhabitable conditions we did not expect to pay for the remaining 4 nights which we would not be using! We incurred extra costs to change our flights, this does not even to take in to consideration the fact that my milestone 50th Birthday had been ruined I spent it travelling home; airports; transfers etc! The company have taken the full payment for 5 nights plus expenses we have had no apology and absolutely no refund. We have contacted them profusely and now we are being ghosted! I do hope they rectify this and refund us for what we haven’t had, otherwise this seems nothing short of FRAUD!
