Hotel Kasbah le Mirage & Spa

Questo tradizionale Riad marocchino si trova a circa 30 minuti dalla medina di Marrakesh. La sua posizione è un remoto ambiente desertico circondato da un villaggio residenziale con molti bambini piccoli, gruppi di cammelli, noleggio ATV, palme e cani randagi. Il Riad in sé è autentico, una vecchia struttura simile a un forte con un bellissimo cortile aperto completo di piante fiorite e koi. Ci sono 26 camere, tutte con bagno privato, con impianti idraulici moderni e letti confortevoli. La biancheria da letto viene cambiata e le camere vengono pulite ogni giorno. C'è un riscaldamento/aria condizionata in ogni stanza. Ci sono tre sale da pranzo, due che si aprono su splendidi giardini in vaso e una più piccola nell'area di un bar ben fornito. La colazione era disponibile ogni mattina prima che gli ospiti partissero per i loro tour ed era più che sufficiente per durare tutti noi fino all'ora del tè. Frutta, pasticcini, crostate, torte, uova, toast e focacce fresche, succo d'arancia, caffè, tè, latte e acqua calda. Il menu per la cena non era enorme ma copriva una scelta più che sufficiente di piatti fatti in casa, zuppe, insalate e pesce. Il tutto servito con pane fresco e acqua in bottiglia. Abbiamo provato il vino locale di Casablanca ed è stato fantastico! Hassan, il meraviglioso autista della Kasbah, ci ha portato sulle montagne dell'Atlante, in un tour mozzafiato di remoti villaggi berberi, caffè e negozi di artigianato. Abbiamo fatto un tour del luogo delle riprese di Game of Thrones e abbiamo camminato dentro e intorno alla più antica Kasbah del Nord Africa. Hassan ci ha anche accompagnato a Essaouira sulla costa e ci ha fatto fare un giro lungo la strada. Capre sugli alberi, cooperative di olio di Argan e la medina. L'inglese di Hassan è limitato, ma il suo francese era facile da capire anche se il nostro francese alle scuole superiori è stato studiato l'ultima volta quasi 60 anni fa.

Soggiorno meraviglioso in un autentico Riad nel deserto fuori Marrakech. Circondato da palme, cammelli e sabbia, questo bellissimo ed antico Riad dispone di una piscina, un bar a bordo piscina, una zona pranzo ben arredata, un giardino interno ed esterno e wifi gratuito. Lo chef in loco con un menu marocchino standard offre prodotti da forno freschi per una colazione a buffet mattutina. Il Riad può essere raggiunto solo con un veicolo poiché la posizione è remota. Sul posto c'è un autista esperto e cordiale che corre due volte al giorno a Marrakech e ci ha portato in cima alle montagne innevate e ad Essourra per una giornata di shopping.

We have just spent one week at Kasbah Le Mirage Spa. This Kasbah is truly home from home. If you can embrace the whole concept of Morroco living and its village way of life a little of the beaten track but easily accessible by hotel shuttle to restaurant and the famous El Fna sqaure then this is the place for you! Rooms cleaned and moped daily, fresh towels, four poster bed, key safe provided in room. Yosif the chef was amazing with his dishes every night we embraced the Moroccon food wonderful! The reception spoke excellent english so please do not believe all you read from others it is easy to communicate. Wi Fi DOES WORK. There are dedicated areas to sign into and I run a very small business and had no problems connecting with people albeit a little slow but remember you are close to the Atlas Mountains after all. The Moroccon people are wonderful, cheerful, friendly and kind, The pool was on the large side and soft music playing lovely, If you can embrace the village way of life and speak with the children and people then they welcome you with open arms. We even bought the young boys in the square a football and the smile on their face said it all. We will most certainly return, the weather is 38 degrees in October and we had one of the best holidays we could ever imagine Just go open minded and remember it is not the Ritz in London but honest, sincere, warm and friendly please try!!

Had a lovely mini break here (4 days) mid-september. If you're looking for peace and quiet this is the place to come! In the middle of nowhere with no noise other than the sounds of nature and a few animals (mainly donkeys & dogs) outside the kasbah. Staff were lovely and very accommodating. Room was spacious and comfortable decorated in the old style of the kasbah. Stunning sunsets viewed from the rooftop lounge area!, although rooftop bar not open you can take drinks up from the restaurant/terrace bar. Lovely Morrocan/continental breakfast consisting of lots of homemade breads and cakes/croissants, cold meats/cheese, cereals and yoghurts, fresh juice and all the tea and coffee you can drink (if you're looking for a full English this is not the place for you!). Free return shuttle provided daily into the Medina if required. They can exchange currency into Dirhams but only Euros, couldn't exchange pounds sterling. Swimming pool was lovely and very quiet, pool bar not open but great for lazing around or doing a few laps and cooling off and can get drinks from the restaurant/terrace bar to take to the pool. We booked half board so evening meal included was typical Moroccan tagines, different one every night and all very nice. Separate menu for purchasing dinner and lunches if required, which we indulged in a few lunches, all very good, reasonably priced and good choice. Would definitely go back after having done the big resorts with the aquaparks for the kids twice previous in the past, this was a more quiet authentic experience for me and the hubbie to take a break.

Hotel is beautiful, the ambiance and design is unmatched. However the pool was dirty and unheated, the jacuzzi was also broken and the food wasn’t fantastic by any means. These factors did not ruin our holiday at all and though breakfast was slightly limited we still enjoyed it, however the experience would have been massively improved if those were not issues. Also note a lot of taxi drivers have trouble finding the hotel, if you are not returning via shuttle bus make sure you have access to a gps. The app maps.me was very helpful when we stayed in Marrakech, it works without access to internet as you can download the maps.

Having read the reviews regarding location I was not without concerns during the journey. However hold your nerve because the reception we received on arrival was warm and friendly. If you want a perfect hotel then choose one of many in the city centre but for authentic Morrocan charm and hospitality this is a little gem. Without exception the staff could not do enough for us. They were kind and thoughtful and no request was too much trouble. Thankyou to all of you for a great stay.

Very long stay that went perfectly well. I had the opportunity to change rooms 2 times at the beginning until I found the room at my convenience. Everything is perfect in this hotel which is obviously not a new holiday resort complex. But if you are looking for serenity, this little corner of oasis with a paradisiacal look already almost in the desert, with an à la carte restaurant and 1/2 board excellent Moroccan and continental dishes, even delicious, and this every day, an attentive service and available at any time, a shuttle round trip Marrakech 2 times a day free and punctual, a laundry, Hamam and massage treatments, gas heating in the cold mornings in the breakfast space, a quiet pool area soaked in background music, the warmth and conviviality of the fireplace in the evening 😃 - you will have the desire to return soon, and a full of happy memories to take home.

The Kasbah Le Mirage is full of charm and character. It is a half an hour drive out of the city which is great if you want to escape the noise and chaos of the city. We used the shuttle bus from the hotel and found it reliable and convenient. The hotel architecture is delightfully Moroccan. The finishing touches are a bit rough around the edges but it doesn’t detract from the charm of the place. The rooms are traditionally Moroccan, basic in what is provided in the room but clean, comfortable and quiet. We loved the variety of areas to relax, different terraces and around the pool.The roof terrace is fabulous and has a wonderful view over the desert and scrubland towards the Atlas Mountains. The restaurant terrace has the same outlook. So lovely to sit out there for breakfast having an uninterrupted view. The swimming pool was clean and a very quiet area to sit and relax. The water temperature was bracing but fine once you were in. The staff were attentive and helpful and gave us such a personal service. Anwar at reception was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. The food was good without being exceptional. It is a limited menu but fine for a short visit. If you want a smart hotel with all the mod cons then this is not the hotel for you. However, if you don’t mind a bit of imperfection and like a place with charm and character and one that is away from the noise of the city then this may well suit you nicely. We like it and would be happy to return. Be aware that if arriving at night the taxi appears to be taking you to an unlikely setting for a hotel. It is along a dirt track tucked away in a rural village. Once you arrive though you’ll get a lovely welcome from the staff.

Customer service is seriously lacking at this hotel, right from reception to bar service and breakfast. It would appear unless you speak the language fluently you won't get any service at all. The WiFi is only in very very limited parts of the hotel and even then is weak. The showers have no water pressure and water builds up in the tiled shower tray. Sometimes your completely dry shower or gets wet as water comes up from the shower drain. Also becareful with the tap handles they get incredibly hot to touch. Breakfast is minimal, unless you know who to talk to then you get omelette and fresh fruit, but it took a while to discover this. The pool area is nice, we notice some guests having drinks served so we asked as well, after 3 attempts we gave up. Local guests were served well food and drink. The advertise as a Spa Hotel, they aren't really as you have to give 24 to 48 hour notice so they book someone to come give the spa treatments. We wouldn't come again, definitely not a 4 star.
