Maroochy Sands Holiday Apartments

The online check in was simple and easy. Our apartment wasn't even close to the photos shown on the website. The lounges were grubby and the kitchen and bathroom were very outdated and crying out for a refurb. However otherwise it was tidy and everything worked, the beds were comfortable and clean. The view from our room was spectacular and the location is great. Only having 1 set of keys was a bit of a nuisance.

This is going to be a mixed review. The good: The view from the balcony was stunning and located close to the beach (floor 6) (Superior apartments are suppose to be top floors, is 6th out of 10 floors considered "top floors" but more of that in "the bad") Bathroom was fully renovated, modern layout (more to follow in "the bad") Parking undercover is great Coffee shop below the building, opening at 6am, big plus, great coffee. The bad:  Via ***********, I booked a Superior two bedroom apartment for a week On their web site, they state that “Superior apartments have been recently renovated in the last couple  of years and feature updated kitchens and bathrooms along with air conditioning. “ That is certainly not the case for apartment 39 that we had. The kitchen is old and has a very 70s-80s feel to it. See attached photos. The only "renovated item was a modern rangehood. The furniture also has not got a Superior room feel to it and is dated. Certainly nothing like the photos on their site portrait.  Most baffling however is the storage in both bedrooms.  Both rooms have a set of drawers in them that cannot be opened, not now, not tomorrow, never! They are covered by sliding doors and however you position those doors, no drawers can be accessed. So minimal, non hanging space..... we lived out of our suitcase Also, in the master bedroom the free standing tall boy, three of the four drawers, the sliders are broken and opening can result in injury. The renovated bathroom.... As stated above very modern look and feel, except for (1) a very flimsy sliding entry door to bathroom, single top rail, thin wood and door would swing open from that single top rail with the lightest breeze of wind  (2) both washing machine and dryer are in the bathroom, without a fan or ventilation (other than window) so room would become like a sauna, no more a steam room when dryer was used. (3) modern shower is installed with a single shower screen (so enclosed on three sides, open on one, no curtain / door) , so after every member of the group had showered after the beach, the bathroom floor was like a swimming pool as one side of the shower is completely open  Overall :  I called "management" on the Monday (first) morning to ask for possibly a second set of keys, as with two couples it is harder to coordinate the coming and going, but no response whatsoever. I also emailed  "management " with the points brought up above to give them a chance to respond and possibly rectify (or other response) and to avoid this review.  Again, no response whatsoever. But despite all of these points, we did enjoy our stay in Maroochydore, It is a beautiful part of the Sunshine coast, and we didn't spend too much time in the apartment, which in my humble opinion is not "Superior" even by The Sands description on their website.

had high expectations due to the photos provided however was extremely disappointed by the lack of cleaning and non functioning electricity. Bathroom and kitchen were filthy and disgusting, you can’t even shower without feeling dirty. No aircon when we got told we had some, extremely disappointed will never be going back.

Deceiving. Poor customer service. Room not clean, no A/C , old furniture. When booking no option given including or excluding air conditioning. When we enquired, reception mentioned it is a premium option and refused to change to another room with a/c even we were ok to pay extra. Unprofessional owner forced us to leave and charged us an extra night . Really terrible experience. I stayed in alot of places in Australia and overseas and never experienced poor customer service like this before.
