Marmaris Alkan Hotel

We have been to Marmaris numerous times before and like to vary our hotels, but this was by far the worst choice ever, very unfriendly staff except for the barman, filthy bedroom, and dreadful food for breakfast, notices stating you cannot bring in any food or drink from outside, yet they provide nothing after 6pm, power to your room is via your keyboard ( only one issued ) when removed all power is cut including fridge which could be needed for medication, great location good pool but far to many negatives, would never recommend.

AVOID Booked 3 rooms for a family holiday, staff were rude, rooms were dirty, bed bugs, cockroaches, breakfast not good and no options, pool was okay but very deep, railings at pool loose and unstable, bar staff at pool very nice and helpful though Air con in my room was broke for the whole 7 days, told staff to fix it 5 out of 7 nights, they came up and said nothing was wrong with it so we had to sleep in a 30+ degree room, very shocking. ONLY GOOD THING THAT SAVED OUR HOLIDAY WAS THE BAR AND RESTURAUNT UNDER THE HOTEL, “CARLOS BAR AND RESTURAUNT” STAFF WERE AMAZING AND VERY HELPFUL, THEY MADE THE HOLIDAY.

HI JUST BACK FROM SPENDIGN 10 DAYS AT HOTEL ALKAN, THE HOTEL ROOM VERY GOOD, VERY BIG, BIG BATHROOM ,LOVELY BALCONY NOT BIG BUT WASNT BOTHERED, AIR CONDITOIN OK CUDNT FEEL IT ALOT, WASNT GOOD AS OVER 100 FARENIGHT, SO HOT, THE BAR GUY BRILLIANT, VERY FRIENDLY REALY FUNNY. HE WORKS SO HARD, 2 MEN AT RECEPTION VERY RUDE. BUT WAS ONLY ON LAST DAY SO NOT ARSED, BREAKFAST NOT FOR ME, NO JUICE, WE TAE THERE TWICE THT IT,EGSS AWFULWATERY. HAD TO PUT ALARM ON TO GET BED AT THE POOL,. 6,30AM OTHERWISE WUDNT GET ONE, EVEN THOUGH SIGNS EVERYWHERE SAYIN DO NOT LEAVE TOWELS ON BED OR TOOK OFF, WASTE OF TIME, LOVELY POOL FRESHWATER, FOOD AND DRINKS CHEAP AT THE POOL BAR, PLAYED MUSIC I WOULD GO BACK YES, ANDREA

Plenty of good things about this hotel but also a few negative, which all hotels do. The breakfast choice is pretty basic and nothing for kids( only stale cereal) no fruit and just fried eggs, toast, mushrooms and the occasional eggy bread or pancakes but no daily. Only thing to drink is water or a high concentrated juice which needs alot of water , again I was ok with it but I have a 11 year old girl and a 18 month old baby so that didn't work well for me and we had to eat out most mornings. The room itself was spacious but we had a family room and my parents had a small room which was the size of a British living room, not enough storage space and nowhere to put clothes away( wardrobe provided but not great. Saftey deposit box in room but it's £3 a day hire. Maids do come to clean room but minimal amount of cleaning, change bedsheets, make bed and give new towels. We were there for 2 weeks and not once was the floor cleaned or mopped. Improvement needed here. Another gripe was that they only give you 1 card more the room so so can't keep the aircon on when you leave, we had records breaking temperatures in excess of 50 degrees and with a 18 month old it's unacceptable. Location is great, right next to restaurants and bars and shops, supermarkets etc so no complaints with this. Pool is ok, sunbeds go quickly and people putting towels down as early as 6am although there are signs saying they will remove them, sun loungers are basic, no cushions. Food is appalling, you are not aloud to bring food in from outside but they get whatever you order from a external restaurant so to me that doesn't make any sense, if they cooked it I'd understand but no. The bar man nuri is top class, very friendly, helpful, kind the list goes on so hats off to him for doing a great job. Stayed for a weeks and was probably to long here due to the minor issues, if they sorted the food and rooms would be much better.

I can’t fault it, clean bedding and towels every day, cleaner was brilliant. Had an issue with the hairdryer, they got me another one. There was always something to eat at breakfast, pool cleaned daily, sunbeds comfortable and new, staff very polite, bar Man Nero (hopefully I spelt it right ) was fantastic always ready to help Thank you Sharon & Derek

Lovely hotel. Rooms cleaned daily with fresh towels. Pool clean and tidy. Breakfast is good although basic - always something to eat for everyone
