Morrillo Beach Eco Resort

My family had the pleasure of staying at Morrillo Beach Eco Resort. The experience was nothing short of amazing. The owners, Cari and Ryan, are exceptional hosts who went above and beyond to help plan our entire adventure. The resort offers a private beach that’s perfect for surfing and brimming with wildlife. During our stay, we encountered howler monkeys, toucans, and even witnessed whales migrating. One of the highlights was seeing baby turtles hatch and make their way to the ocean—an unforgettable sight! Ryan guided us on an exciting fishing adventure, while Cari planned a snorkeling trip to a private island, which was simply breathtaking. Their attention to detail and genuine care for their guests made our stay truly special. If you’re looking for a unique and eco-friendly getaway with plenty of activities and natural beauty, Morrillo Beach Eco Resort is the perfect destination.

Super comfy double room on the top floor with a veranda in the jungle where monkeys pass! Both beds were awesome. Big and comfy and perfect for our family's short stay. The room was spacious and the hosts made us feel extra special at their restaurant where the communal area is. We also used their stand up paddle boards and boogie boards on the river and at the beach!

I really enjoyed the eco resort, which was nestled in a forested area overlooking the beach. I highly recommend this resort and the wonderful staff that was always ready to help in any way possible. I have stayed at a few places in the area and this has been the best by far. I highly recommend staying here.

The atmosphere and good vibes around the hotel are fantastic. On one side, you are immersed in the thick tropical jungle, and on the other side, you have the mangroves and Morrillo Beach. Really, it is something unique. The singing of the birds, the cries of the monkeys, and the sound of the strong waves create a harmony worthy of living it again and again. The rooms are very well detailed, and the beds are so comfortable that your subconscious doesn't allow you to stand up quickly. Cary (the owner) was attentive to every detail, and the staff did a magnificent job.

Amazing monkeys, jungle and sea outside your door. Waterfalls nearby. Fabulous food and professional staff, bend over backwards hospitality. Rooms are very large with terrace balconies, super hot water 24/7.

My only suggestion is to let guests know ahead of time that it is a fixed menu. Also that it is predominantly vegetarian. The food is very good. However not everyone prefers vegetarian. Perhaps offer omelets at breakfast.

Relatively young resort property. All new beds and bedding and lodging. Very cool lodge style rooms. Water pressure fantastic. Hot water almost instantly. AC very good. Very comfortable, well appointed room. My wife and kids and I can't wait to go back.

My husband and I stayed at Morrillo for a week and we had a fantastic time. Cari and Ryan were amazing. They took wonderful care of us. Our room was spacious and inviting. The staff was friendly. They supplied everything we needed, surfboards, kayaks, paddle boards, beach towels, delicious food, and drinks, all with a smile. They checked in with us regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. It was a special treat to have both waves for surfing and beautiful mangroves to kayak through just steps away. Sitting in the restaurant area watching the waves while howler monkeys played around in the trees can not be beat. It is a truly peaceful place to let the stress go.

A wonderful place to stay and relax. Plenty of activities to stay busy if you wish and also an excellent place to sit and read or do nothing. Surrounded, literally, by wildlife. I hope to return many times.
