Mountain Treasure Bed and Breakfast

We were here Labor Day weekend. Agnes and her husband Jan could not have been better hosts. It is quaint and charming, not fancy, but designed with intention to be hospitable and make you feel like you are "home." The beds and linens were very comfortable which is very important and the fire pit is amazing place to meet others and star gaze. Agnes even let me follow her around her garden while she was gathering tomatoes and herbs for the morning breakfast (there were three choices, but I had a yogurt parfait, followed by eggs from the chickens on sight and tomatoes and basil straight from the garden). She was also very helpful in recommendations of restaurants and things to do. We cannot wait to go back!

We love this B & B! It is pretty and peaceful and the beds are very comfortable. But the breakfasts are simply fantastic. Fresh eggs and produce from Agnes’ garden, and baked goods from her kitchen make breakfast fun. And Agnes herself is delightful, and warmly welcomes you to her beautiful home. We’ll be back!

If I were to run a bed-and-breakfast, I would want to run it the way the proprietor runs Mountain Treasure. She treats you the way she would want to be treated. From the creatively decorated rooms, to the cozy breakfast nook, to the delicious breakfasts she prepares, the proprietor truly treats you as a special guest. I stayed at Mountain Treasure, in July 2025 after my hike down the Kaaterskill Falls. I stayed in the American Room and used both the tub and massage chair after my hike. The bed was comfy. The AC worked well (I also opted for fresh air one night). I sat in the backyard and enjoyed the mountain views and quiet ( passing cars didn’t disturb the peace much). The best thing was definitely the delicious breakfasts made with eggs from the on-site chickens! Scrambled one morning and in a veggie frittata the next. I requested gluten-free-friendly selections and my breakfast came with gluten-free toast. The coffee was also delicious. I highly recommend Mountain Treasure and am considering returning in fall to enjoy a stay in a different season. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Stumbled on this place by accident while looking on line for a place to stay in the Catskills, an area I've never been before. Their website showed they had availability so I called to make a reservation. I spoke with the owner who assured me they had a room available and made the reservation. I could not believe how affordable the rates were, so went in with low expectations. My expectations were blown away right from the start. The area is incredibly beautiful and very close to all the restaurants of Windham. We checked in with the owners, who were super nice and turned out to be the best hosts ever. The room we reserved was the Country room, which the owner warned us was small. We found the room very clean and super cozy, with a clean bathroom as well. The breakfasts provided were great, not some fancy attempt to make a gourmet art piece that is ultimately inedible, like we've experienced at other B & Bs. The owner even gave us choices each morning and they were made with eggs from the owners "Ladies" as she called her chickens. The grounds were beautiful with a stream in the back yard. Each day we would return from riding (motorcycle) around the area and find homemade treats waiting for us in the dining room. At breakfast time the owner gave us great areas and activities to explore in the Catskills as well as recommendations on where to eat dinner. I can't say enough good things about this place and feel as though I made 2 new friends in the owners. I can't wait to return and discover more in the Catskills.

They were incredibly kind and accommodating of my late arrival. In my morning rush, I forwent the breakfast. Instead they gave me a bag of healthy snacks for my busy morning!

This was my 6th or 7th stay at Mountain Treasure, because I love it there! Innkeepers Agnes and Jan are excellent, accommodating hosts. The inn is set in a stunning hamlet, cradled within the Catskills. It is peaceful, comfortable and kept up immaculately. There is a beautiful running stream to walk to right on the property. The town of Windham and Tannersville are a short drive away. Agnes’ daily breakfasts are delicious and made with fresh, wholesome ingredients; they are enjoyed in a cozy dining room with a lovely view . I highly recommend the Mountain Treasure!
