Killarney Mountain Lodge

We were fortunate to be able to have both a night sail and a breakfast sail with Will. Our first sail included his brother Tom as First Mate and the second sail had Tascia as crew. Everyone on both trips were extremely polite and super helpful. We learned many facts about Killarney from them and it was a great experience. Thanks to all.

Just back from an amazing weekend at Killarney Mountain Lodge. The resort is exactly as expected – frankly better. Amazing views and hiking and boating opportunities. The beds, pillows and duvets are like sleeping on a cloud. It’s actually great to wake up in the middle of the night and realize you get to love falling asleep in that world all over again. While the activities and views are mostly a reflection of the amazing natural environment in which the lodge is located, what makes the place truly amazing is the staff. I didn’t get the privilege of meeting the chef and kitchen staff, but they are incredible and deserve a huge shout out. The food at Killarney is some of the best I’ve experienced and that’s even more amazing, given how far this place is from anything most of us would consider as populated. But what we did get to experience is the absolutely amazing level of service delivered from the customer facing staff. Our first dinner was at the Ranch House steak restaurant. The steak was phenomenal and one of our party said the salmon was just about the best they have ever had – high praise. Kilty was our server and she was an absolute delight! Wonderful young lady with a great sense of humour and excellent knowledge of both the food and wine menus. THANKS KILTY! You made our first night absolutely amazing. The bigger indicator of her professionalism was that Kilty saw us the next day and instantly cast a beautiful and natural smile and said hello and asked if we would be back to her restaurant that night. That level of professionalism and dedication are rare these days and greatly appreciated. Second night, we went to the main dining room and we were fortunate enough to have Emily (spelling?) take care of us. She was wonderful. We are not always the easiest group (but we have a lot of fun). Emily was amazing. She gave us a very unexpected wine recommendation (although she declared not to be a wine pro) that was absolutely perfect and she dealt with our less than easy and almost constant requests in full stride and without ever showing any frustrations. We even had Emily help our breakfast server and she declared we were the best guests available – which was very generous of her but we did have a lot of fun with her the prior evening. Mel set us up for a great fire by the waterfront one night and entertained us with her stories and experiences and, luckily, also joined us with Carlos for our hike to the lighthouse – both Carlos and Mel were amazing and knowledgeable on the hike and made us feel safe and capable the whole way, even though the weather was a little less than perfect. I hope I didn’t forget anyone. The reality is every single person we encountered at Killarney was amazing, from the front desk to housekeeping, to the guest services people we had direct contact with regularly. We will be back. A truly charming resort! The staff were outstanding and made our stay unforgettable. A special thank you to our housekeeper, Suschart, whose warm smile and kind nature stood out. We loved the dining experiences at both the Carousel Lounge and the Ranch House. The tomahawk steak with four sides was a highlight! Already looking forward to our return next year.

The Killarney Mountain Lodge dining room is a great place for excellent food and service. - Seafood pasta; Pickerel fish baked in a parchment wrap; Vegetarian eggplant lasagna and desserts were delicious. - Breakfast is special also with Lobster Benedict, Omelettes, Classics, and other delightful selections. - Kids love the kids menu that include steak, salmon, burgers, chicken fingers, fries, vegetables, etc.

Fox Islands adventure! The trip was fantastic, I can't think of anything that could have been better. Will and Natasha, the boat crew, were amazing and the whole day was incredibly. The lunch was pretty delicious too!
