Arcanus Hotels Sorgun - Ultra All Inclusive

The kids had a fantastic time at kids club. There are a good variety of things to do which change daily. We stayed for 8 nights and the kids did not get bored. The great thing about this place over others is the kids age range is not just from over 5 and the kids are in a safe environment. Brilliant service.

I have a very mixed review of this hotel. Some aspects are absolutely amazing, while others are definitely not five-star quality. I’m not a fussy person at all, and we’ve stayed in many places—from B&Bs to five-star hotels—but this hotel is quite confusing. It was our first time in Turkey, and it certainly won’t be our last, but next time we’ll be a bit more selective. Pros The outdoor areas and views are absolutely stunning! The location of this hotel is incredibly beautiful. The pictures in all the brochures are exactly how it looks in real life. The rooms are lovely, and the shower is amazing. Rooms were cleaned every day, and the corridors were spotless. The staff are friendly. We had the opportunity to enjoy the Hammam bath experience with a massage, which was amazing—definitely do this if you visit! The Bistro and Beach Bar were a godsend for the kids—very tasty food, and the staff there were very attentive. Now the Cons The first thing you notice when you walk into reception is the strong smell of smoke. It’s really overpowering. We’re not generally bothered by this—each to their own—but it leaves a terrible first impression. Also, there’s a lot of seating in the reception area, making it very loud and not relaxing at all. You can smell smoke throughout the hotel. We put it down to just not being used to it anymore. Even though we loved every minute of the spa experience, it didn’t feel five-star. The staff were great, but the facilities were not. The entrance to the indoor pool goes through the spa, and it’s very noisy, which takes away from the relaxing atmosphere. At the end, we were told to wash off the mud mask in the changing room—my husband had kids in there, and I had a staff member eating lunch with no mirror to clean off properly. Not ideal. The outdoor pool is not heated and was absolutely freezing! If you’re into cold water swimming, great—but otherwise, it’s too cold to enjoy. Now for the food and restaurants: I usually eat everything, but even though there’s a lot of choice, the quality isn’t great. The main dining area is extremely noisy—so much so that my ears hurt. There were no waiters, just staff clearing tables. In a five-star hotel, I’d expect drink service and a smile at the very least. Also, many guests were incredibly rude. I know us Brits love our manners (well, most of us), but other nationalities seemed to lack basic courtesy. I know that’s not the hotel’s fault, but it made the experience less enjoyable. There are several à la carte restaurants: the open ones were Far East, Italian, and Mexican. You get to try one for free, and the rest can be booked at Guest Relations in reception, though they tend to be fully booked two days in advance. We managed to get into the Far East restaurant—lovely ambience, but absolutely freezing since it’s outdoors and they provided no blankets, which are a must in April. The food wasn’t great, but the service was fabulous—thank you to the waiter working last Friday! Not full

I would have given a 5 star review if there was more/better evening entertainment. They had entertainment on but every hotel I’ve been to in Turkey prior has had a Turkish night, with Turkish dancing. They do the Turkish alicart restaurant which we booked and was lovely but just felt it lacked a Turkish themed night. The entertainment team was very friendly, especially Alton who made an effort to chat with guests. We also did the Italian alicart restaurant which we found fantastic, food and service we couldn’t fault. The hotel its self was spotlessly clean. We felt with all the different bars and food restaurants around the total you didn’t need to leave the complex, which is good as you’re all inclusive saves spending extra. However there isn’t anything close by to the hotel, everything is a short taxi ride which wasn’t a problem. We booked the pavilion on the beach which is 75 euro extra for your own private space 9am - 6pm with regular butler service bringing drinks and icecream. We all enjoyed the pavilion. There was plenty of food choices I thought. Buffet restaurant which was a typical all inclusive buffet style with pasta, salads, meat, veg and daily fresh cooked while you wait. My family absolutely loved the mashed potato . Through the day you had the slide pool bar, the lounge and beach restaurant that did fast food type food, all slightly different menu. We never struggled to have a meal so can’t fault the food atall.The drinks were a struggle, we felt You could order a drink, then order another drink the same and tasted totally different. However I do recommend the alcohol slushes from passion. Especially the Malibu and pineapple . We would definitely recommend Arcanus and would return in the future. We did give feed back about a Turkish themed night to the reservations so hopefully they will take this onboard. If you’re thinking of booking this hotel then go ahead as you won’t be disappointed. If you have booked for the summer I hope you have as much of a good time as we did

Lovely and clean place. We enjoyed the stay. The staff is respectful and polite. Prices in the hotel shops, hair dressers and the spa are a bit high though. We are really happy with the Kid's Club as you can safely leave your child with the ladies to have a couple of hours time for yourselves.

Me and my husband had such a fantastic time visiting the Arcanus Hotel. The hotel has everything you need. Beautiful restaurants, bars, shops and beautiful beach bars There was a wide variety of food drinks and delicious cakes. A special mention to the Head chef who works in the restaurant. He was so attentive and made us feel very welcome from the day we arrived. Big thanks to the bar staff who work at the main bar. Very friendly and welcoming especially the barmans who worked at the bar on the first floor with a beautiful balcony view. Big thank you to the manager Halil who is very pleasant and friendly always welcoming with a smile and chat. We are definitely looking to return next year. Can't wait to return in the future.

I’ve just returned from a weeks holiday with 6 others (including young children). Unfortunately it wasn’t quite the experience we had hoped for after being so excited to visit… Our rooms were clean and fairly spacious, however the air-con wasn’t very strong, so the room would be a bit uncomfortable in the heat. The beds were rock solid - me and my partner experienced some discomfort. The cleaners would do a great job in keeping the rooms clean, with fresh towels and bedding, also providing bottles of water and fizzy drinks in the fridge daily. The pool, restaurant, bars and communal areas were all very clean and all the staff were very friendly and also great with our children. We felt a bit disappointed with the food as it was really quite average, not what you’d expect for 4* plus. We were under the impression that we would’ve had more than one restaurant to choose from, however they’re at an additional cost (only one free experience in another restaurant) but we did have better food in the Mexican restaurant on site, or when venturing out into the Side harbour. I highly recommend venturing out to the harbour, as it’s so nice to explore the ruins and lovely restaurants on offer with lots of friendly locals. The biggest disappointment was the entertainment. There was such little on offer and we’ve had much better in hotels at much lower stars. Most evenings we returned to the room early as it was just so boring, we noticed quite a few others doing the same. There wasn’t any games areas (only a table tennis out the way!) which we found so bizarre. It was such a shame as it has such potential!! The beach and pier area was so beautiful and had great views, a fab asset to the hotel. We’d booked to go on the Jetski’s which was a great experience, however the staff there were a bit greedy trying to claw more money off us for photos (baring in mind we’d paid almost €80 for 15 mins!!) so please be aware photos aren’t included. As per usual it’s a fight for the sunloungers which open at 8am - all gone by 8:02 so set an alarm clock lol!! Overall we had a lovely stay, but we did feel very deflated, as we’d been so excited following the reviews here!!
