The Diwa Club by Alila

Had a really good stay at the diwa club. The hotel is great. Very luxurious. Staff is awesome. Great ambience, a very peaceful environment. The check in process, and the staff at check in were great. Rooms are big, luxurious, very clean. Beach shuttle facility is great. Pools are great. Chai paani, ie the tea and snacks, can be improved, or can be done away with altogether, and the cocktail hours can be extended, or not. But Chai paani needs to be done away with. When at 5 star resort, everything which is given, even if it's free, should be of 5 star quality. The snacks at chai paani were not. And the menu put up at chai paani, especially under specials, is very confusing. Eg, masala pineapple and kokum water was written, both were waters of paani puri. Who could guess!! Cocktail hours is a really solid product. Great snacks, great drinks, 6 star product from 5 star hotel. Breakfast at bistro was also great. Great concept of alacarte breakfast. Really appreciate it. Great variety. I had corresponded with the hotel, with 2 separate persons no less, to convey to them that we are coming to celebrate a 50th birthday, i am a regular customer, hence keep us a great room. At check in, i was asked if we are celebrating any special occasion. I had expected, since i had corresponded in advance, the hotel will know in advance. And its totally my fault, not the hotel's, for keeping too much high expectation for maybe a room upgrade, since it's 50th birthday no less, i have booked directly through Hyatt, not mmt and likes, and i am a regular customer and I know for a fact that availability was there. I just expected too much, it's my fault. Maybe the staff with whom i had corresponded with, conveyed the message properly, or not, i don't know. But I was indeed given a good room, a center room, in the category i had booked. I had great stay, great celebration. I very much appreciate the decorations done by housekeeper team. I really had a great time at the hotel. Below are the staff members I would like to thank, for their help to me, for their dedication to the job, and their true effort to make my stay and overall experience great: Mr. Jagganath at vivo restaurant waa the highlight of my trip. Really great service. Preston, Aaradhana at the lobby were great. Just ask them anything, they are ready to help. Really great people. Kishan the beach shuttle driver, and Kishore kunar beach security are also gems. Christopher from housekeeping also helped me a lot. A very special thank you, for great, dedicated service by Saina, Aditi, Raju, and chef Priyanka, at the bistro restaurant. Thanks a lot for a wonderful experience.

Everything from Arrival, Reception, Check-In, Courtesy, Hospitality, Mannerisms of the Staff, Helpfulness, Food, Service, Departure and Airport drop off was very good, except the hot temperature and humidity which was beyond the hotel's control.

The resort is quite large with a lot of greenery and it felt very cozy. The best part was the spacious rooms in The Diwa club with a massive bathroom. The resort has all the amenities and activities to keep everyone including the little ones busy . The stay was very good and would like to visit again .

The entire F&B team, Subrata, Priyanka, Raju, Noah, went out of their way to help is. I appreciate everything they did to go above and beyond for me and my family to have a pleasant stay. And lastly Avinash thanks for everything, you turned things around for us. It isn't easy to change a customer mindset from bad experience to a wow experience (we were literally considering to leave Alila and head to Taj Exotica) but we trusted Avinash to turn things around and he did not disappoint. Safe to say we did enjoy our holiday and will certainly return to stay. Lazy brekfast buffet - i think is a game changer for families (like ours) who do not want to get up and be on a schedule. Hotel room - were spacious and cleaning took place twice a day or more on certain occasions (kids can make things messy) Food - Was good, although we went out often, whenever we stayed back in the room we ordered and it was not disappointing.

It was an excellent experience staying here with my family. I absolutely loved the food and the pool facilities. The staff's behavior was outstanding—courteous, helpful, and always ready to assist. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable!

Overall we had a wonderful stay at the Ailia Diwa Club. We opted for a package for two days which allowed all food and drinks to be included, spa treatments etc which was well worth the money and we felt like it was great value for a family of 4. There were some things that we felt could be improved to really live up to a 5 star instead of in reality being a (very good) 4 star hotel. Pros: * Staff were extremely helpful and friendly, 2 of us had celiac disease and the kitchen staff and chefs were really helpful telling us what we can/cant eat and even brought out gluten free bread and pancakes. Head chef Chandra Sharma made sure we were well looked after. * The facilities were really nice, we liked both pools and there were always plenty of beds * The rooms were massive, clean and well furnished * The spa was wonderful, we had massages and they were great * For our parents wedding anniversary the staff made a real effort with sparkling wine, a cake, a private table for dinner and decorations - it was really great Improvements: * Service times - most of the food we got was good but it always took a LONG time to arrive. Average waiting time at lunch or dinner was +40 mins from sitting down to our food arriving * Service at the Edge bar was very very poor. Despite +10 people working there when we went one day for lunch (and 2 other tables of customers) it took 20 mins when we sat down just to be handed a menu so we decided to go for lunch somewhere else * Some of the food was sub par for what you would expect for a 5 star resort, I ordered steak medium and it was still raw in the middle * The wifi in the resort wasn’t great, we had to use our e-sims to get internet a lot of the time * The beach wasn’t great - although there is a shuttle from the hotel there are no beds/shades so we didn’t spend any time there, we think this is an area the hotel could improve to enhance the guest experience Massive thanks in particular to: * Saina (Restaurant) * Chelsea (Guest Relations) * Colin (Pool) * Raju (Restaurant) * Sourav (Restaurant) * Ramesh (Chef) * Chandra (Chef) * Becky (Spa) & all the Spa team (sorry didn’t get everyones names) * Aradhana (Guest Relations) who all made our stay :)
