Hôtel Restaurant "La Petite Auberge"

A small, quiet and pretty little inn on the outskirts of Bourg St Maurice with a great chef! It served our family very well at the start and end of 8 days of skiing in Les Arcs, which is reachable by funicular railway, a short car-ride away. We received a warm welcome and had two wonderful gastronomic dinners and hearty breakfasts: virtually everything is home-made. The sleeping accommodation is what you might call “old-fashioned French”, but the rooms appear to be getting upgrades as the young owners clearly intend to improve their hotel business. Some of the rooms have shared toilets ( if this concerns you, make sure you book rooms “Avec WC”). The plumbing is still fairly “traditional”! Go to a soulless modern hotel with lots of smart facilities if you want…….but if you want a small, welcoming country hotel with lots of real character and fantastic local cuisine, then choose La Petite Auberge!

On our round trip through the France Alps we stopped in Bourg Saint Maurice. Asking our hotel desk for restaurant recommendations, the La Petite Auberge was the first they suggested. Also it wasn't far from our hotel, so we gave it a shot. What should we say? Small, very athmospheric room, nicly setup. The very friendly service brought us to our reserved table (definately do a reservation!) and showed us the menu (in French) helping us to translate to English. We had the best meal of our whole trip here, also had a lot of fun. The ladies doing the service obviously have fun doing their job as well, which adds even more to the overall experience. Communication in English wasn't "perfect", but well enough that we understood each other with a bit of fantasy on both sides ;-) Most if not all other guests were locals, which also tells a bit about the food quality and the restaurant itself. THANKS again for a great evening, should we ever be near again, we will come again!

We stayed for one night in December after arriving on the train. We were in two rooms. It is a 20 minute walk from the station - so just about do-able with bags. The rooms were clean and the staff were very friendly. The highlight was dinner - the food was pretty amazing and is worth booking to eat here even if you are not staying here.

Die Zimmer haben alte Tepiche. Die Dusche ist neuer als das uraltere Zimmer. Der Preis von 100 euro massiv zu viel. Der Burger wurde mit altem Salat Serviert. Der Wein war sehr gut.

accueil sympa et restauration très correcte (menu du jour) avec un bémols sur le tarif des vins au verre à presque 10€ pour des vins plutôt basic. Sur la chambre petite mais très jolie et fraichement décorée, il manque un WC (2 disponibles sur le pallier), point de bouteille d'eau ou de bouilloire. bâtiment isolé et donc au calme.

120€ la nuit pour une chambre sans armoire ni commode ( vous laissez vos affaires dans la valise) au dessus du restaurant (avec le bruit qui va avec), le lit fait un jour sur 2 et quand vous faites le commentaire a la propriétaire elle vous propose immédiatement d'aller voir ailleurs.
