As you drive up to Evergreen Acres, you will be greeted by an inviting front porch where you can hear birds singing and certain times of year see the Mountain Laurel lined driveway in full bloom. As you enter the front door you will be amazed at the massive space inside. To your immediate left are stairs leading up, a hall way in front of you with an open spacious newly remodeled kitchen, dining room with walls of windows and natural light, an open grand living room with gorgeous vaulted natural tongue and groove ceiling and stone wood burning fireplace, large screen tv and ample seating. This main floor also has 1 bedroom and 1.5 bathrooms. The King Bedroom has a full ensuite bathroom, sitting area, & large screen tv. Upstairs you will find two additional bedrooms, one with a King size bed, and an all age bunk room, with triple bunk bed, single bed and queen size bed, along with a wide open loft, with a full size bed. This floor also features a full bathroom with shower/tub combo, a half bathroom that adjoins the loft, a designated office desk space, a gym area with a Peloton Exercise Bike, Free Weights, & Yoga mat, along with wide open shelves housing a library of books for all ages, assorted games & puzzles. This floor is 2 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, plus the loft space and can sleep 10 it is spacious and has all been newly styled and remodeled. This lovely Highlands home is out in the woods in a quiet neighborhood yet only 6 minutes to town. A short walk (1/4 mile) from the Ranger Falls trailhead gets you to a waterfall each morning if you're up for it. The home is well equipped with three bedrooms, two full baths and a cozy living room with fireplace. With natural wood walls, beamed ceilings, large yard and views of the tree filled property you'll feel a part of nature each day. There is a large open deck and a covered porch out back plus a front screen porch so there is plenty of opportunity for fresh air relaxation. Have dinner outdoors or, if you have to work, take your laptop out to the high top table and listen to the birds while you type. The wi-fi is reliable as is cell signal. There are streaming services for the televisions in each room, plenty of books to read and an old-time CD player for a little throwback music. The primary bedroom with king bed is on the main floor with one full bath along with the living room with fireplace, updated kitchen and access to the outdoor porches. Downstairs are the other two bedrooms, one with two queen beds and the other with two twins, a full bath and laundry room. The twin bed room has a sofa and gaming TV (no consoles provided) and a walk-out to the back yard with steps down to the grass to throw a football or play cornhole (provided).You will arrive to find starter necessities like toilet paper and paper towels but we do not provide extra or shower soap, shampoo or laundry soap. We've tried this in the past but guests use up what is there and then don't replace it. We apologize for any inconvenience in this regard. Inventory is done after each guest. Any damage or missing items will be charged to the guest.You'll love Highlands with it's wine and food culture and outdoor enjoyment. The village has cute home and clothing boutiques, gift stores, places to eat or grab a drink, a deli or two, ice cream shops and places to people watch. Nearby to town is a butcher shop and another grocery. A larger Ingles is in Cashiers. Get out on Lake Glenville to enjoy the cool and freshest water, waterfalls and beautiful scenery. Highlands is at 4,118 ft. above sea level. There are dozens of amazing hiking trails in the immediate area. Temperatures usually are lower than many places in the country in the summer and winters are usually mild. The town has activities all year including the famous Food & Wine festival in the late fall, holiday lightings and parade and all sorts of music and fairs throughout the year.Accessibility and stairs: There are three steps down to the front door. The kids of all ages will enjoy the game room that has a pin ball machine, pool table, air hockey, Foosball and four theater chairs for watching the game or playing video games. The kitchen is very well equipped with stainless steel appliances, huge island, all of the pots, pans, dishes, etc, that you could ever need. This home will sleep 8 and is perfect for a family get together or two families vacationing together. So you can fully picture the layout, the main floor is one large room - living area, dining & open kitchen with huge windows looking out at the amazing view of the Smokey Mountains. The master bedroom with en suite bath is on one side of the house and has his and her own vanity, toilet, walk-in closet and share an all tile shower. Two other bedrooms are on the other side of the main floor and have their own bathroom with tub/shower. The downstairs bedroom (second master) has a large bathroom with two sinks, tub/shower and huge walk-in closet. The living room, four bedrooms, and game room all have large flat screen plasma TVs. The house also includes Dish Network, Wi-Fi internet and terrific cell reception. Come hike, bike, fish, raft, visit waterfalls, hunt for antiques, take a scenic drive, or shop, it's all here. Our location is close to it all and is only 10 minutes from downtown but still it is far enough away for you to sit on the deck and hear the wildlife. We love families getting together at the house and therefore it is suitable for children, but we don't provide cabinet door locks or baby gates so it is not suitable for toddlers. The views rival anything in North Carolina and the Smokey Mountains with spectacular daytime and nighttime views overlooking Franklin and the surrounding valley.
