Hollyhock

We stopped in Macedon - pretty much just looking for a somewhat convenient place to stop with things to do. The area itself was very nice - the property had nice flowers around and it was clear it well taken care of. A great deal of different wildlife around as well. The breakfast was simple, but good. The B&B room (we got the suite) itself could have been nice but it just wasn't that clean. The bathtub had not been cleaned in a long while it seemed, hair all over it, and it looks like a few people at that. Some of the sheets had stains on them. The silverware for breakfast had food caked all over them from previous guests. There were cobwebs all over the bathroom - where it was clear some things hadnt been cleaned in months. I think we would understand given we were in the middle of the woods that spiders are just going to be there, but it was clear this was a cleaning issue. The women that owns the B&B it was also a bit strange - she was not aware that we were staying for two nights, we had to tell her and she seemed surprised. She also blocked our car in the driveway and when I asked her if she could move it she told me to go on the lawn around the gardeners' vans. While it's ultimately her problem if she wants me to drive on her lawn, we could barely fit a motorcycle between the bushes and the van (luckily the gardener came over as I was looking at the gap and said not to worry about it he would move for us). Altogether I think this place has a lot of potential if it was just clean, but we would not visit here again.
