Hotel in zona Milan Palma, Maastricht

This is the first time we have stayed in a property in this price range that was badly antiquated, poorly run, and lacked any modern management that we wanted to escape almost directly after checking in. We should have been more conscious honestly after reading the TA reviews as the management apparently only responds to positive reviews but never to negative ones....a clear sign there is a lack of any accountability or leadership in a property honestly. Beyond the poor communications in advance of our stay we have to say that the rooms have not been refurbished since the 1970s at best and were stuffy, dark, and kind of sad honestly to the point where we worried about sticking to something. While some of the junior staff were friendly enough, the communication with management was poor and when we asked how we could best accomodate the needs of our children, we were simply told that one could sleep in our bed and they could set up a crib for the other child....at a rental cost of 15 euro a day!!!!! In my decades of traveling I have not ever found a single 4 star property that charged a daily rate on using a baby crib in a room and in general this left us the rather pressing feeling that families are not welcome here! Otherwise, if you are taking a train to Maastricht it is an ideal location as the hotel is located almost directly next to the train station and the noise is not so bad at night. In general though, this property felt like an obsolete dinosaur with no central leadership or accountability to its guests. The sad fact though is that with one of the Netherland's best hospitality schools based within the city limits, this poor service could easily be remedied we argued with some fresh blood and investment, but instead it looks like the owners just want to rest on the Amrath's accolades (and its presumed '4 stars') from yesteryear. A true pity and waste of money these days especially in such a hospitable city as Maasstricht where the Crowne Plaza nearby is clean, well run, and equally convenient.

L’hotel si trova difronte la stazione centrale di Maastricht. Accoglienza perfetta , ragazza in reception operativa e simpatica. L’hotel ha un’infinità di stanze e corridoi con un design particolare , molto simpatico e da scoprire . La mia stanza non era molto grande ma il bagno si . Particolarità ? Porta del bagno in vetro trasparente ma con una tenda da chiudere per la privacy. Peccato per l’assenza di finestre nella camera, era presente solo nel bagno . Pulizia perfetta! Ottima scelta sopratutto se si è di passaggio anche per una sola notte .

This is not a design hotel. Our room is basic, some of the art consists of metal trays with lines of paint screwed to the wall. There is barely any storage (one drawer and four hangers on an open wardrobe approx 60cm in width). The courtyard room faces out onto the roof of the building below and the fire escape. In addition it faces fencing approx 1m or so away from the window, The room couldn’t be any more beige if they tried. We paid over €150 a night, breakfast is an additional €21 per person per day…and there are no tea/coffee facilities in the room. You can get hot drinks in receptions though. The picture of the item of furniture with the coat hangers in this review represents the total amount of storage available. This is without doubt the most ridiculous room I have ever stayed in terms of useful storage for 2 people. The hotel is fine, basic, clean, dull rooms but misrepresented and very overpriced in our opinion. The glass of cava and cup of soup on arrival is tokenistic, don’t let it persuade you this is a design led and customer focused experience. A nice example of overpromised and underdelivered.

Questo hotel è il più lungo che vivo questa volta, e mi sento anche il meglio. La stanza è molto comoda, la posizione geografica è anche molto conveniente, e la mostra è molto vicina; la colazione è molto delicata, la varietà appartiene al centro della ristorazione occidentale, e il rapporto costo-beneficio è molto alto!La posizione geografica è anche molto conveniente!

Als je kiest voor een arrangement , dus inclusief ontbijt en het zogenaamde drie gangen diner, moet je niet het beste verwachten van hun . Allereerst kregen wij een kamer op de eerste etage, precies boven de ingang .. heel erg rumoerig en de schuifdeur die de hele avond/nacht open gaat, is gewoon in de kamer hoorbaar. De slechtste kamer van het hotel, terwijl er nog zat kamers beschikbaar waren. Het zogenaamde drie gangen menu stelt niks voor en is erg weinig. Bovendien had de kok geen zin om de sinaasappelbavarois te maken en kregen wij gewoon diepvriesoesjes van de supermarkt met een laagje chocoladesaus overheen..vreselijk ! Ook het voorgerecht was waardeloos en bestond uit een zogenaamde champignonsoep met zes sprietjes tauge en twee champignons.. Ik voelde mij erg beledigd dat dit mij aangeboden werd..! Dat ze dát durven te serveren is schandalig..! We mochten alleen maar op een bepaalde plek in het restaurant zitten, omdat wij een arrangement hadden en werden zo een beetje als t****erangs gasten behandeld.. Dit is heel erg slecht ! De kelners zijn niet gastvrij en vriendelijk , ik beveel ze een cursus aan bij hun collega's van het van der Valk Hotel. Verder was het ontbijt prima, gewoon standaard zoals overal, maar zodra je iets extra's bestelt,zul je bedrogen uitkomen. Ik had een arrangement betaald voor 3 dagen van 335€ en zal dit dus nooit meer doen.

I terreni e gli edifici di questa proprietà sono bellissimi, come un film che non potrebbe mai essere reale. Il personale esulta un'aria di professionalità formale e graziosa. La regione circostante (conduzione della strada rurale verso l'abbia di Val Dieu) è costituita da miglia dopo miglia di belle colline e valli agricoli impossibile dotate di piccole città perfette come Teuven. Il Chateau offre un tranquillo ristorante e un bar, ma la città di Valkenberg, appena in alto, ha una collezione di bar e ristoranti. I visitatori abituati alla velocità e ai margini acuti della vita moderna dovranno adattarsi qui. Il tempo sembra muoversi più lentamente. Le nostre camere erano gigantesche, più grandi di molti appartamenti e la patria attaccata ha guardato un orchid. La piccola cucina aveva un forno/microonde, un intervallo elettrico e un piccolo frigorifero. Tuttavia, gli mobili erano di un'altra era. Erano in stato di prigione e confortevole e soggiornare nella stanza era un passo indietro nel tempo circa un secolo. Non è una denuncia, sono migliaia di tracce di natura e di bicicletta che iniziano e terminano dal castello che apparentemente si trova in una conservazione della fauna selvatica, la regione sembra essere un centro di biciclette competitive e le strade che guidano in tutte le direzioni sono chiamate a essere rimosse. Resta qui, respira l'aria fresca, cammina attraverso i sentieri e le strutture d'arte. Ridurre la velocità di vita. Non aspettare di venire qui per un club di danza, centro fitness o esperienza urbana di qualsiasi tipo.

Bij aankomst werden wij heel hartelijk en met de glimlach ontvangen door een heel vriendelijke vrouw. Ze gaf ons uitleg en bracht ons naar onze kamer. De kamer was netjes, ruim, gezellig aangekleed en er was veel lichtinval, waar wij echt van genoten. De indeling van de meubels vonden wij ook superleuk! Het was een super rustgevende kamer met een heel ruimtelijk gevoel. In hotelkamers voelen wij ons soms opgesloten, maar dat was hier absoluut niet het geval! Er was heel veel opbergruimte in ruime kasten, superhandig! De badkamer was volledig in orde met een mooie ruime inloopdouche. Alles werkte perfect! We vonden het wel super jammer dat het zwembad enkel tussen 17u en 19u gratis te gebruiken was. De spa bijboeken was niet meer mogelijk omdat het vol geboekt was. Wij hadden ENORM uitgekeken naar een gezellige relaxerende “avondzwembeurt”. Bij het boeken via deze app van Trip hadden wij nergens gezien dat het zwembad niet continu vrij te gebruiken was. Ook is het voor ons te duur om dat er nog bij te boeken helaas. Het ontbijt was voor ons wat minder. Er waren een aantal dingen die we niet zo aangenaam vonden, vb niet alle vaat was proper, 1 van de potjes van het dessertenbuffet was blijkbaar gebroken, enkele mini eclairs in de frigo waren “geschonden” en dat zag er niet zo smakelijk uit, de granola-torens waren nogal leeg… De zaal waarin het ontbijt plaats vond, vonden wij wel super!! Het is een beleving op zich! Wij waanden ons in een heel andere wereld. Dat geldt ook voor het hele gebouw, de gangen, de tuin,… De tuin is sprookjesachtig. Als wij niet zo snel weg moesten, hadden wij daar graag wat tijd doorgebracht. Een superleuk ingerichte woning en tuin, super rustgevend, de gangen zijn ook heel mooi ingericht, het verzet echt je gedachten op een positieve manier en wij wilden hier super graag nog langer blijven!! Als wij een groter budget hadden, dan kwamen we hier voor langere periode en boekten we de spa erbij, want voor rust hebben deze eigenaars zeker gezorgd!! Wij hebben echt genoten van ons verblijf hier en raden het aan!

This is a very nice place and probably we would stay again. It is in a historic building and that comes with certain quirks. The biggest thing to know is it’s not for people who are physically limited. You don’t park near the entrance and there are no elevators to the room. Everything has steps and there is no assistance offered, so unless you get a ground floor room you are toting your bags up the narrow steps. We are fully able so it wasn’t a problem. The grounds are gorgeous and the staff generally very nice and helpful. It’s a bit odd though as it combines high luxury with low frills, such as no help with bags. They seemed a bit understaffed. The food is great but expensive if you dine in. Not unreasonable for the food but high for every day dining. Overall the stay was very good but a bit on the expensive side. One oddity was we wanted to stay an extra night ( we emailed a few weeks ahead and got no reply) and when we inquired as we checked in were told they had a room but they couldn’t book us at the front desk we had go online. We decided to move on.

Quattro notti, la prima di cui nella suite di Natale. Molto ambienti, con in ogni stanza un albero di Natale, vari guirlandi con luci, soggiorno separato con schermo piatto e Netflix, bagno con doppio tavolo da lavare l'uno contro l'altro. Molto spazio per la cabina ovunque, doccia pioggia, pannelli infrarossi, e una camera da letto spaziosa, tutto bene, ma la domanda se potessimo avere due letti separati, è stata risolta negativamente. In suite abbiamo dovuto togliere ogni volta 7 punti, che erano quasi inaccessibili nella camera da letto. Un AB era stato così utile e poi il bagno con la porta di vetro, chi inventa qualcosa del genere? Anche abbiamo mancato un piano Oid nel doccia. Shampoo e sapone dovevano essere messi sul pavimento, per il resto tutto era buono, la stanza normale era spaziale, di nuovo con schermo piatto e Netflix. Bella bagno, qui un piano. Il buffet per colazione era stato esteso con per ogni cosa, la cena era anche buona, solo dovevamo chiedere sempre frittelle, perché indipendentemente dal numero di piatti principali, avete ricevuto solo un piccolo bicchiere di frittelle.
