East LYN House

This is the best B &B we have ever stayed in. The hosts Lorna and Steve make you feel very welcome and nothing is too much trouble for them. The room was clean, comfortable with coffee, tea and biscuits provided and a lovely view of the river and sea. Good choice of breakfast either cooked or continental. Easy access to Watermeet river walk and Lynmouth itself. There is also a lovely sun terrace where you can sit and watch the sun go down. We have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation and will definitely be returning. Carol & Russell

We stayed at this delightful hotel for 5 days at the end of April. Although parking is available at the hotel we decided we would rather park in the nearby public car park. Lorna very kindly offered to get us a weekly pass for £25 and when we arrived Steve met us in the car park with the permit and carried our luggage to the hotel for us. Breakfast was very good. We were able to select which items we would like and how we would like our eggs cooked. Lymouth is a delightful town with its famous water powered funicular railway to Lynton perched high on the hill above. The last time we used this lift was 50 years Ago and it hadn’t changed a bit! We would thoroughly recommend this little hotel and hope to come again!

Lorna and Steve are amazing hosts with nothing too much trouble. Their B & B is an absolute jewel in Lynmouth, full of character with its own parking. The breakfasts are glorious and healthy with great options. Our room was immaculately clean with amazing views of the river. We will definitely be returning

On arriving at the B&B we were met by Lorna and Steve. We were given a tour and shown to our room - Steve kindly carried our case. Lorna offered us tea/coffee and biscuits on the terrace overlooking the river which was very welcome. The B&B is very clean, the rooms have all you need and breakfast, ordered the night before, was lovely. Managed to eat on the terrace on the last day as the weather decided to be kind to us. Easy distance to Watersmeet, Valley of Rocks, Woolacombe etc and lots of restaurants locally. Have been to Lynmouth many times but will definitely return to East Lyn B&B. Lorna and Steve are great hosts.

This was our third stay at East Lyn House. It's a great place to stay for a few days, lovely clean and comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast and welcoming and friendly hosts. Location is spot on too, right on the banks of the river so you can hear the water. When the weather is right you can enjoy breakfast on the terrace. Another bonus is car parking on site. Highly recommended.

Quite simply the best Guesthouse we’ve ever stayed at. Excellent friendly Hosts who can’t do enough for you and to top it off an outstanding Breakfast. Will definitely return as soon as we can. Perfect location.

We stayed here for 2 nights in August and had a lovely stay. There is private parking at the b&b and it is only a short walk to the restaurants and bars. Hosts Lorna and Steve were lovely and made us feel welcome from the minute we arrived. The b&b is beautiful, gorgeous house with a terrace overlooking the river where u can bring your own alcohol and sit out and enjoy the scenery. Our room was a lovely size, comfy bed, had everything we needed. Breakfast here was really good. The full English breakfast was one of the best I’ve had. Definitely recommend this place to anyone who is visiting the area.

Excellent bed and breakfast. Lorna and Steve great hosts. Always willing to help and chat, nothing to much trouble. Perfect position on the river, close to village and harbour. Lovely terrace overlooking the river where you are invited to take your own drinks. Rooms were nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. Our room - room 5 - had 2 windows with views down the river. Breakfast by Steve was really good - cooked to order. Fresh fruit, croissants, cereals and fruit juice were available. Lovely walk along the river to Watersmeet about 2.5 miles where there is a National Trust cafe - we got a taxi back for £6. Purchased a North Devon Parking pass which covered many of the car parks in the area including the one next to the hotel. Lots of places to visit. We went to Dunster Castle and Watchett on the way down and Appledore, Mortehoe, Valley of the Rocks, Arlington House, Lynton, Ilfracombe and Coombe Martin during our stay. Ate out at the Old Bank, Lynton, twice at the Bay View, Lynmouth, harbourside fish and chip shop which were all really good. Will definitely stay again.

We stayed here for 2 nights and it was amazing. From the time of booking Steve and Lorna were great hosts. Had an email telling us about the onsite parking and also when we were travelling down Lorna phoned to see what time roughly we would be arriving. On arrival we were met by Steve who showed us where to park and took our cases up to our room for us whist we chatted with Lorna who showed us around and made us a lovely cup of tea which we had out on the terrace and Lorna told us all about the local area. Lovely lounge area to sit, breakfast room and the beautiful terrace to sit out in in fhe good weather with lovely views. We were in room 6 at the top and had views to the sea and also the river. Very comfortable bed, lovely room with wardrobe and plenty of drawer space and tea and coffee making facilities and toiletries. Breakfast served between 8.30.and 9.15 made by Steve and wow what a breakfast. Keeps you going all day. This guesthouse is a little gem and we will be returning. Thank you Lorna and Steve.
