This is a lovely hotel! It's classy and elegant, and overall it'll make your vacation that much more special. The location is great, as you can walk to restaurants or other places in Luray. The Luray Caverns are a quick drive away, as is a Walmart and Food Lion, and Skyline Drive's Thornton Gap Entrance is close by. I ate at the Circa '31 restaurant for breakfast, which was reasonably priced (the menu is small with a few standard breakfast options). Free coffee and muffins in the lobby at all times. The Speakeasy restaurant is very good, and has various specials/deals each night. The bedrooms are small, but comfortable. The grounds are beautiful, with an area for bonfires and hammocks, as well as a pool and hot tub area. The staff is very kind and accommodating.
A few recommendations for the management:
~Put mini fridges in the rooms
~Put chairs on the balcony so people can use it as a sitting area
~Something to provide more counter space in the bathrooms
I recommend the Mimslyn Inn to anyone staying in the Luray area!

This place has a historic look with antique furniture, stunning winding stair cases, dining rooms, large main shared areas etc.
The rooms are smaller than modern hotels but sufficient to meet our needs.
The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was included and the eggs were good. The place was not crowded, however the few guests there were also very friendly. We did eat dinner in the dining room. Again, very few people there. It was delicious but higher priced and worth it for convenience. We didn't have enough time to explore the area. We plan to return when we have time to do more than just pass through. We saw much to do and would need a few days to get a better feel for the area. Looked interesting!

Mimslyn is undergoing renovation, which we were able to work around. The breakfast could be more generous. Our room was great, nicely accommodating three people. When we asked for room assistance, we got it. We really enjoyed the historical charm of the place.

Our stay was nice. The hotel was doing some repairs and painting. Aside from that , it was a comfortable stay. Neighbors were very loud after hours, but eventually wound down. The area is very quaint. Small town in countryside. Good get-away.

We went to visit the Luray Caverns and this was very close to it (about 4 miles). The hotel and the room were very clean. The hotel had some great views in certain areas you can go to.They also have two restaurants. We were there on a Thursday and they were having some remodeling done but it didn’t interfere with anything we did. We very much enjoyed our time there.

Wow. This was such a huge disappoin**ent. I went for a girls night away and it was a nigh**are. The room was not as advertised. Tiny TV, old small electric fireplace, florescent lights everywhere, non inviting room. Room wasn’t as expected at all. Went downstairs since nothing is open. The speakeasy was unexpectedly closed so we bought a bottle of wine of our own to take in the lobby and enjoy by the fireplace. The Rude woman at the lobby desk named Rachel was extremely disrespectful. She goes on to say “did you buy that wine here?” And says you can’t drink any outside wine here. Says it very blunt and rude. There are no signs anywhere stating that you can’t drink alcohol that you bring yourself. I suggest getting a sign that states that and also not false advertising what your rooms look like. We will not return.

I came here for the night for me. Time I ordered a bistro filet entree,it was absolutely delicious! Also had a delicious melonball cocktail, i slept like a baby and i definitely recommend this place to anyone, rather it's with your family or not :)

A beautiful historic hotel in Luray. Definitely the place to stay if you’re visiting the area. Clean, nice room.
