The Lamplighter Bed & Breakfast of Ludington

My husband and I took a mini-vacation to Ludington in August 2025 and he booked this B&B for our stay. The home is charming and the owners have thought of so many details to add to your comfort and experience. In the morning, you can start your day with a tea and coffee bar with locally sourced tea and cocoa choices for non-coffee drinkers. Breakfast each morning was exceptional and not the usual continental breakfast fare. One morning, we had savory French toast, one morning it was crepes with cherries. I looked forward to breakfast each morning to see what was being served. In the afternoon and evening, they have a treat available near the coffee. One morning was lemon bars and one day was chocolate chip pecan cookies. The cookies were so good, my husband snuck down later on in the evening for another! The owners have mastered the art of being available and accessible and offering space to visitors. They are knowledgeable about the area and happy to share recommendations of things to do, places to eat. The location is great and a reasonable walk (less than a mile) to many of the shops and restaurants in the main area. If you are considering a stay here, make your reservation! You will not be disappointed!

Very nicely appointed B&B with amiable innkeepers, Dan and Jan who struck the perfect balance of help and privacy. Fantastic breakfast in their beautifully landscaped back patio. Very convenient to walk to restaurants and downtown. I highly recommend.

The hosts were very friendly and most hospitable. The facility was clean and inviting. The breakfasts were delicious, filling, and pleasing to look at. It was lovely to breakfast outside-the mornings were beautiful. We never heard anyone else in the house although there were others staying at the same time. I would not hesitate to recommend this Bed & Breakfast. We had a most enjoyable stay.

This was our first B&B experience and could not have been better. Jen and Dan were so welcoming. They have a created a space that is both luxurious and homey - no small feat. Loads of attention to detail in all areas. Spotlessly clean. The breakfast and baked goods were top notch. We will be back!

Squeaky clean and has all we need in spaces large enough. Lovely and gracious well. You get what you pay for. We stayed across the street for less, but impersonal and tiny. You choose. Easy to walk to dinner. Flexible breakfast times was also a plus as was round the clock snacks and bev.

This small B&B is centrally located. Easy walk to town stores and lots of restaurant choices. Table 14 and Stix are wonderful. We stayed in the only first floor room (Monet). The room, bedding and bathroom were all comfortable with attention to guest comforts. The breakfasts are delicious and look like gourmet magazine covers! The backyard gazebo is fabulous and we so enjoyed our wine and cheese afternoon there (guest refrigerator is offered so you can bring your own wine!). Best of all is that despite Ludington being a busy summer tourist destination, this B&B is reasonably priced and frankly, lower than most rates I’ve experienced at similar lodging. You won’t be disappointed if you choose Lamplighter.
