Lopez Farm Cottages & Tent Camping

This working farm with quaint cottages, tent cabins & camp sites is a real gem of island hospitality—as are the proprietors Mari & Jordy! The cottages and campsites are nestled among the trees, gardens and grazing pastures. Thoughtful conveniences abound from the batches of local granola provided in the cottages to the forested hot tub and communal kitchens for campers. The farm is located a short bike ride to Lopez Village shops and restaurants. Highly recommended.

What a wonderful find !! I was so proud of myself for finding this gem of a place to stay. We stayed in the canvas Walled tent #2, which has a small walking path so hidden from the view of the field. The bed was comfortable and the attention to detail was impressive; from the mini battery-operated candles by the nightstand (which you can use the tray to carry things), flashlight, bath towels, plates/cutleries/cloth napkins/assortment of tea bags/French coffee press with coffee/cream/sugar - which Mariko (our host) would replenish daily if needed. The kitchen/common area was also very well organized. Very nice to have hot water Our very friendly host(owner) Mariko greeted us warmly when we arrived on our bikes from the ferry, and explained where things are, not only on the property but on the Lopez Island. She ensured we had reservations at restaurant. We were there on Tue/Wed night so we did not think it would be necessary to make a reservation but with limited restaurants, she highly recommended to make one. Both restaurants she recommended were absolutely fantastic! The first night we went to Blue Heron, which has locally sourced ingredients and menu, very friendly staff. For the 2nd night, we went to Setsunai. Although online it was not available, Mariko texted the owner and managed to find us a spot! Now that is a true Concierge service ! (We both work as hotel concierges in luxury properties in Vancouver) The property is very peaceful and relaxing, if you are looking for a place to unwind from the city buzz, this is a perfect getaway spot. Just 20 mins cycling from the Ferry terminal and less than 10 mins to cycle to the village where everything is. Thank you for making our mini getaway trip so perfect for us. We will for sure be recommending to everyone around us and hopefully we will be back again in the near future.

A great place to unplug. Stayed in one of the well appointed cabins. Nori, the cat, acted as an unofficial escort, following us around as we walked the property. The owners were helpful and friendly and generously shared their produce from their garden. Lopez is one of the less developed islands, and not a lot of restaurants, however the food we ate was delicious. Our favorite was Setsunai, homemade udon noodles and seasoned very well.

The cottage was a perfect size for our 4-night stay. Tasty breakfast. Wonderful to have owners on site to get word-of-mouth information that even the "tourist information" in Lopez couldn't provide. Staff extraordinarily helpful and we had wonderful conversations about farming on the island.

We had a wonderful 2 night stay in one of the furnished wall tents and are definitely planning on staying here next time we go to Lopez Island. I was apprehensive about camping, as we were on the island for a wedding weekend, and I wasn't sure how getting ready for dressy events each night was going to work. But the amenities here made "camping" easy, comfortable, and fun. They even had a little lantern to carry to light the way to the kitchen or bathrooms. The wall tent was absolutely charming and spotless, with a few hangers for our clothes, a charger with USB ports for our phones, bath towels, and an overhead light. The bed was extremely comfortable, and we enjoyed our downtime relaxing in comfortable chairs on the "front deck" facing the lovely pastural setting. Each wall tent was in a private wooded location with a mulched path to the bathrooms and outdoor kitchen.. There were 4 separate private bathrooms: two with a toilet, sink, hooks, shelves, and outlets, and two others with all that plus a shower. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend the wall tents to anyone who loves the outdoors but also wants access to some modern conveniences.

The Wall Tents are fabulous! Every detail is considered to ensure a very comfortable stay. Loved the communal kitchen area, including hot water source and microwave. Grounds are well kept and quiet. Showers are hot and clean. We'll definitely be back!
