Mitchell Grass Retreat

This is a superb retreat. The glamping tents are  very well appointed, the breakfasts very generous and tasty, freshly baked bread  , croissants, delicious muesli , fruit compote, and more. We had the barbecue basket one evening and this was very generous too, the scotch fillet steaks very tender, plus sausages and rissoles, rolls  and a salad. Tanya, the owner and manager, was very attentive. Highly recommended.

Wonderful experience for a first time visit to Longreach. Hosts Tanya and David made us feel very welcome. The three night package included entry to the Stockman's Hall of Fame with a live show and Qantas Museum. First time in years that we've sat by a campfire enjoying a glass of wine. Mitchell Grass was a refreshing break and the last stop for us before heading home after a road trip through outback Queensland.

From the moment we arrived at Mitchell Grass Retreat, only 4km from Longreach town centre our accommodation was nothing short of magical. The tent itself was incredible—spacious, beautifully decorated, and incredibly cozy. From plush bedding to ambient lighting to reverse cycle heating and cooling, nothing was overlooked. Robes were hung next to the inviting bath with slippers laid underneath. Fresh coffee and tea were stocked, chocolate, port and marshmallows were special treats supplied. We loved the private deck for watching sunsets, stargazing and enjoying morning coffee and having barbecue breakfasts. We thank Dave and Tanya for their genuine hospitality, it was such a relaxing spot while we explored the surrounding area history. Ruth and Cameron
