Dover Castle Hostel

I am writing to you to express my deep dissatisfaction and make a public complaint about the poor service received by a reception employee at the Dover Castle Hotel in London. The incident occurred on July 19 at 6:10 pm. This employee behaved in an insensitive, inhumane manner and showed unacceptable mistreatment and indifference towards me. Additionally, he refused to give options when I tried to pay by card, rudely insisting that they only accepted cash. It is clear that this person does not love what he does and his behavior reflects excessive pride and an attitude of superiority towards others. This individual is clearly xenophobic and his treatment leaves a very bad image of the hotel. My experience is not an isolated case; I have read numerous comments and reviews on the internet where other clients express that they have been treated in the same way. This person shows obvious discrimination and completely lacks the slightest courtesy towards customers. Despite all the complaints that have been made about the poor service and mistreatment of employees, as well as the indifference shown, the hotel has done nothing to improve. For this reason, I do not recommend this hotel to any type of person who wants to stay, especially if they are tourists. I call on the management of the Dover Castle hotel to take the necessary and appropriate measures to resolve this situation. An establishment that claims to offer lodging services cannot afford to have employees who mistreat guests and damage the reputation of the place. I hope that this complaint will lead to immediate corrective action being taken. Guests deserve to be treated with respect and courtesy, and it is the hotel's responsibility to ensure that its staff lives up to these basic standards of customer service.

Straight forward, nice clean room and bathroom facilities. Fantastic, friendly and safe atmosphere in the bar. For my first stay at a hostel ever this was definitely a brilliant experience. We stored our things in lockers provided for £1 a day. We came and went as we pleased, happily. I would recommend definitely.

Accommodated a Transgender Veteran for Remembrance weekend with professional, polite & respectfully throughout her visit. Clean , rooms , exceptionally priced for Centre London. Highly recommended this place to stay while in London.

NON FATE ASSOLUTAMENTE CASO ALLE RECENSIONI PRECEDENTI QUEST ANNO. Premetto che ero molto scettica appunto per via di queste recensioni se prenotare o meno. Credo di meglio a questo prezzo non avrei mai potuto trovare. Innanzitutto ho dormito in due stanze: una da 10 letti e L altra da 6 letti. Entrambe molto pulite, solo poste in due piani differenti. I letti erano dotati di lenzuola e copri cuscini che chiedono solo di portare giù una volta finito il pernottamento per lavarli. I bagni sempre puliti e se non lo sono è perché chi decide di pernottare a volte è un animale e non ha alcun rispetto del lavoro altrui. Dico questo perché una mattina ho trovato il bagno , posto al terzo piano completamente pieno di pipì ( O V U N Q U E ) ma era troppo presto ed ero troppo assonata per informare la reception e quindi ho usato L altro bagno. Al piano secondo invece troviamo purtroppo un solo bagno ed una sola doccia che magari può risultare fastidiosa se si hanno delle tempistiche da rispettare. Detto ciò la location e’ super graziosa. Semplice. Funzionale. Dotate di sapone, salviette e spray anti odore. Al primo piano si trovano invece altre stanze e la cucina. Molto vicino al Millenium bridge, London bridge e a molti locali graziosi. Unica nota dolente : in entrambe le camere ho avuto la sfortuna di trovare due uomini che russavano come non mai. Consiglio quindi, essendo camere promiscue, di portarsi i tappi per le orecchie, altrimenti la nottataccia e’assicurata. Concludo con una nota di merito al Personale carino, gentile e sorridente e soprattutto multi lingua 😊

Stayed this place on 20/ 8/2022 for one night what a mistake , arrived around nine at night , checked in , he took my driving licence of me said it was for key securities incase i lost the keys . went up to dorm wee someone had just left my bunk , bedding nott changed so went down reception to ask for it been done . went strait to bed woke up 6am never left the hostel , couldnt find the door key, i then went to reception to tell him i couldnt find the key so he said i owe them £10 pounds or i wouldnt get my driving licence back . I then threatened to call the police , he gave me my licence backand threw me out onto the streetat 6 am siad i wouldnt be allowed to stay there again . isnt there a law against someone taking your licence . In all i spent nine hrs in that hostel , thats was sleeping . I believe they had the key and didnt return it to me , just to get £10 from me . And i believe i left it at the reception when asking him to change the bedding . I would advise anyone not to stay there . Very nasty peice of work
