Peterstone Court Country House Restaurant & Spa

Wow what can I say from the moment we arrived to leaving we had a wonderful stay. We booked very last minute, but we’re not disappointed with our choice. All the staff were so attentive and friendly, the food was delicious and the room extremely comfortable, we could not fault a thing. The grounds and hotel itself were decorated beautifully and it felt very festive. We had a complimentary upgrade on arrival which was a lovely touch as we were celebrating my husband’s birthday. We enjoyed a drink in the bar and library and I think the drinks were reasonably priced and a great selection on offer. We didn’t get a chance to use the spa facilities but will try that next time as I’m sure we will make a return visit when hopefully the weather is slightly better and perhaps we’ll get to see the gardens and outside pool area. We booked dinner bed and breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal. Again good choice and everything we ordered was delicious. Breakfast too followed that theme and the chef’s recommendation of Welsh rarebit was superb. I would highly recommend to those seeking a relaxing break.

This place is just Magnificent!!!! I couldn’t fault a single thing and was only planning to stay for 3 nights but ended up staying for 5 as we didn’t want to leave! What made our stay so amazing has got to be the staff!!! They were all so lovely and always went the extra mile to help you! The receptionist from the second we arrived was so chatty and made sure everything was perfect for us, all the bar staff were just lovely, the morning chef and the lady who served us every morning were also just so lovely! The breakfast every morning was just fabulous!!!! Our room was stunning and the views were breathtaking!! The hotel was so tranquil with such a nice atmosphere! LOVED LOVED LOVED, thank you so much.

My partner surprised me to a half day spa day at Peterstone Court for my birthday. It included time in the spa, an hour massage and lunch. I started off in the spa. I had slippers, a robe and towel with my day and there is a room to change with lockers and showers. There was tea, coffee and herbal tea to help yourself to. I spent time in the jacuzzi, sauna and the relaxation room. For half a day, I think the size of the spa is no issues as there enough to fill your time. However, if you are there for longer, it could be better if there was more facilities to use. After time in the spa, I had my hour massage. I thought the massage was so lovely. It didn’t feel rushed at all and got the whole hours worth. It was really relaxing and being able to choose the oils used was a great touch. After the massage, I had some more time, so I headed back in to the spa before getting ready for lunch. On booking, my partner made them aware that I had coeliac disease. As we entered the restaurant, I didn’t have to tell them as they were already aware. My lunch was to be selected from a set menu which was 2 courses for £24 (included in the spa price). On my menu, I had it marked with was available for me to eat. The menu only had a few options, so I only had 1 option for each course to eat. However, my waitress said that if I didn’t like what was on the menu then the chef is able to make something different, which I thought was great. I did, however, pick from the menu as it sounded really lovely. I had the soup to start, with gluten free bread, and then the pork belly. I was really impressed with the lunch. I thought the food was fantastic and it made the half spa day even better value. Lunch on the website is labelled as a light lunch, so the lunch I got was much better than I was expecting. Overall, I had the best day and really enjoyed spending my birthday morning at Peterstone Court. I’d really recommend visiting their spa for a lovely treat and for, what I thought, was a great value for money half spa day.

The rooms are lovely and the external environment has a lot of potential but every other function of the hotel has work to do to warrant the prices they charge. The hotel is advertised as a restaurant with rooms but it didn’t deliver on the food offer at all. Soft boiled egg arrived hard boiled, porridge was made in the microwave, duck was over done, the belly pork fat wasn’t rendered and it goes on and on. The hotel was short staffed. Reception wasn’t staffed after 5pm. We found ladies underwear in the drawer in the wardrobe. My husband requested flowers in the room as it was our wedding anniversary they weren’t there. Our bedroom room door was broken, the toilet didn’t flush properly. It goes on and on. For the purpose of clarity, I did leave this feedback with the hotel when we were leaving, I was assured the hotel manager would call me to discuss as soon as he was off the phone this was over 2 weeks ago and I’m still waiting. I tried to contact the hotel by phone several times but the phone wasn’t answered each time. This is only the 2nd time I have ever left a review but I feel so strongly about our experience I think others should know. It was over priced, under staffed and really disappointing.

Outstanding service and excellent steaks on their Steak night. Perfectly cooked steaks and really good accompaniments. It was quite busy but we were not made to wait for service. Will certainly eat again on the steak night deal. Well worth a try !

Great location we were only staying one night after a funeral, staff excellent friendly and helpful. We didn’t use any spa facilities as we were not there long enough we stayed in room 208 a Heritage room bed was comfy nice bed linen. Going to say what I think would make my review 5/5, as a women of a certain age I use a small fan at night on my side table there was no bedside plug, they supplied a big fan but I really need a small one as not to blow my husband away.In the bathroom lovely free standing bath a free standing bath caddy next to the bath would be great ,as there are no sides or a shelf to place any shampoos washes etc. More room coasters to protect the lovely furniture would be a plus. Great selection of teas and coffee and so great to have fresh milk and water in the fridge. Had a meal in the evening which was lovely and bar area super at night. Breakfast choice was brilliant and so nice to have such great options for all different diets .I would highly recommend staying here and the small things are only to make it perfect.
