We stayed for three unforgettable days in what was originally booked as a romantic couple’s room, but thanks to the warm generosity of the staff, we were upgraded to a more spacious and luxurious suite at no extra cost. This thoughtful gesture was just the beginning of an experience that felt nothing short of royal. The location is unbeatable — nestled right in the heart of Lijiang’s Old Town, with all the charm, culture, and history just steps from your door. Yet, once inside, the resort feels like a serene oasis, perfectly balancing traditional elegance with modern luxury. What truly sets this hotel apart, however, is the impeccable service. We had access to 24-hour butler service, and the staff communicated with us seamlessly via WeChat, making every interaction easy, personal, and incredibly attentive. A special and heartfelt thank you to 小唐 and 龙龙, who both went above and beyond to ensure our stay was nothing short of extraordinary. Their professionalism, warmth, and intuitive hospitality made us feel like royalty, anticipating our needs before we even voiced them. The rest of the team was equally gracious and proactive, constantly ensuring our comfort, entertainment, and well-being. Though we were tempted to extend our stay, we chose to continue our travels to a new province — but we left with heavy hearts. This stay was one of the highlights of our entire journey, and we will absolutely be returning in the future. It’s rare to find a place that blends luxury, tradition, warmth, and service so flawlessly. If you’re visiting Lijiang and want to experience the very best of what hospitality can be, Passing-Cloud Resort Wenyuan is the place. Highly, highly recommended.

Everything about this place could not have been more delightful! My wife and I stayed here for a week but if we didn’t have to go back to work, we would have stayed even longer! The staff here are very attentive, knowledgeable with the area, and sincere. When you stay here, you will be in good hands, these people really make you feel at home and in good company! This place is serene, so if you need to come relax your mind and body, this is the place to be! Getting here the first time would be a little tricky but that’s with getting to any place that’s located inside the ancient city (GuCheng) of Lijiang. Cars are not able to enter the city so you will be dropped off at an entry way and wind your way through the old cobble streets. The location of Passing Cloud though is very convenient as the entry way is just a 6-8min walk. It is located almost next door to Mu Mansion, few minutes away from the Market Square, Big Water Wheel, and the Zhongyi Market (local fruit/vegetables/dried goods market in the day and street food market at night). For breakfast you’ll be served the staple Yunnan Crossing Bridge Rice Noodles, milk, congee, there will always be a variation with the sides, which includes some fruit, dumplings, pickled vegetables, stir fried dried mushrooms, a small bakery item (cake/bread/roll/sandwich).

Although there are few English-speaking staff at the guesthouse, the smiles on everyone's faces melted away the fatigue of the journey. I'm truly grateful for this guesthouse, which allowed me to genuinely enjoy my trip.

Super perfect, super nice, super comfortable, super good service. All their staffs are super friendly, efficient, attentive, very informative n everything so perfect.
