Lijiang Lan Yu Ancient Town Hotel

Simple but modern hotel. Great location easy access to ancient town as well surroundings with restaurant and zhongyi market. Modern room with comfortable bed as well automatic closet. Breakfast is super good and free flow. All staffs are so helpful and welcome. Super recommended. Will come back again to this hotel if I have chance.

Very new and clean hotel with great service. Nice breakfast and they even helped collect my parcel. Really enjoyed my stay!

This hotel was one of the highlights of our trip to Yunnan. the room is tasteful, modern and clean. its location just on the outskirts of old town made it super convenient while being away from the insanity inside of the old town itself at night. the best part was the host amber, and her staff who went out of her way to make us feel welcome! we had tea for about an hour just talking about yunnan and what made Lijiang special. she ended up giving us a restaurant recommendation not far from the hotel that was absolutely stunning. highly recommend this hotel!!

While the hotel amenities clearly lived up to its 5* rating, the professionalism of the staff, and service level clearly exceeded that. We had a medical emergency close to midnight on our last night, and the staff responded with great resourcefulness, given the late hour of the day. They helped to procure essential medication from a nearby shop, and very importantly, helped to purchase an ankle boot via the online platform *******, without which we will have great difficulty in going home the next day. Tip top service, great location and well run facility. Clearly we’ll be back here again on our next visit to Lijiang

Brand new hotel, we really liked the modern design of the rooms and appliances provided. The location is also great, just at the entrance of the old city. This means it is extremely easy not only to walk to the city but also to catch a taxi. There is also a local fruit and meat market around the corner, which is opened in the morning. And a night street food market. The staff was extremely helpful and nice. One of them spoke English, which was helpful for us as we unfortunately don’t speak Chinese. For breakfast, at our request they brought us some yoghurt and jam. They even helped us organise a transfer to tiger leaping gorge and onward journey to Shangri-la at a very good price. It was much appreciated - do ask for what you need as from our experience the staff is willing to go the extra mile to help. The service would be even better if the following points could be addressed. 1. More organisation at breakfast - eg breakfast starting time should be respected. 2. In our booking we had a “pu’er tea experience” included - which we had to ask for and also felt it was a bit underwhelming (we were simply served some complimentary tea). 3. One night we received a dessert - this was much appreciated but unfortunately the empty bowls were left in our room the following day. 4. We stayed at the property in November and found the common spaces to be a bit too cold for us (eg breakfast room) 5. There’s a nice fireplace in the lobby which we wished would have been on to create a cosier atmosphere. Despite this, I would definitely recommend this place for the location, the comfortable rooms, and helpful staff.
