We booked a room at the Bell Gate house for an overnight stay in Leicester as we were going to the Radio 2 party in the park. It was very nice, a pleasant bijou room with all the usual amenities and an accommodating night manager. Just perfect for the purpose..

Booked the hotel through ********** on a whim due to a change in plan and having a night out, booked it at 9pm, got an email saying no need to confirm with the hotel, ‘check in at anytime’, open 24hrs, didn’t think anything of it got to the hotel at 4am, called the number on the door, and the person who answered was incredibly annoyed I woke him up ( fair enough, it’s 4am I get it, but at the end of the day I’m just going off the information I was emailed and it’s.. a hotel?) , I proceeded to apologise multiple times and try to show him the email that said check in anytime, and he said it doesn’t say that, check in ends 12am, and wouldn’t look at the email, and insisted I was arguing with him also to add I had a friend with me who needed the toilet, he wouldn’t let them in to use the bathroom, I even offered to pay extra next morning, went to check out and got charged £10 for what I am assuming is waking him up Didn’t argue, apologised again, and left. Avoid :)

Really rude guy on reception swore at us when we complained room wasn't ready after the official checking in time. Would not recommend to anyone. Do not book this property. More like a hostel than a hotel. Horrendous experience. Book the premier inn up the road. BE AWARE!!!

Frontage of building could do with smartening up a little but once inside its lovely. Very clean. Rooms are small but very neat and tidy. Bed linen seemed to be good quality. Tea and coffee supplied was a nice touch. Shower was excellent! Perfect location for town centre. Would definitely recommend for a night's stay.

Really friendly welcome, shown to rooms and how to use air con and set to our requested temperature - bliss. We booked two single rooms but were given a free upgrade to doubles. Nice modern styled and clean rooms. Mine had a huge shower cubicle, oh a big tv too. Tea & coffee plus proper fridge. 21 was a pleasing large and bright room on the second floor. Hotel is literally two minutes walk from an NCP multi story and about ten minutes walk in to the old part of Leicester. The main shopping precinct and street is just three minutes up the road. Excellent value.
