The Broadway Rooms

Dreadful. Access is through a fire exit stairs which you don’t get told until you receive the access details just before arrival. We stayed in Room 1. The bathroom heater didn’t work and there was no hot water in the sink. When I contacted the property I was asked to climb on a chair to check if one of the switches in the fuse box located above the door just below the ceiling at which point I told them that it’s totally unacceptable for a paying customer to do that. I was asked if I’d sorted something similar out in my own home and my response to that was what I do in my home is my business and I don’t owe them any explanations. They point blank refused to send a maintenance person as they’re a “remotely” operated property. I told them that I didn’t want to stay the second night I’d booked given the situation and cancelled it through the App I’d booked from. They misread the msgs I’d sent and refunded me for both nights. The next morning I sent them a msg to say I was checking out to which I got a response to say they’d refunded for both nights. I was visiting Leicester for a family emergency and told them so and said that I’ll pay for the night I stayed and have no problem doing that. They then offered me a discount to be paid by bank transfer which I did but they had a problem with “my attitude” because “no one should have to put up with that” because sometimes “things go wrong”. It begs the question of their professionalism and business etiquette. All I’d say is never again.
