La Nostra Casa in Centro

Within easy walking distance of Lecco train station, the Lake Como ferry terminal and the town centre, La Nostra Casa Incentro is in a beautiful old building next door to the police station. Coming in from the street, you enter a large hallway - our host opened the door and carried our bags up 4 flights of concrete stairs. There is no lift but that wasn’t a problem for us. The door to the guesthouse opens onto a long, high ceilinged corridor. The bedrooms were airy, spacious and spotlessly clean. The en suite bathroom was large and again, spotless with plenty of shelves, a hairdryer and clean towels. The bed was so comfortable and there were extra pillows and covers in the press. There was a little traffic noise from the street below but the windows do a good job of blocking it out when closed and the street was pretty quiet at night anyway. Breakfast was self service, continental style - yoghurts, toasts, jams, sweet and savoury croissants, fruit, cereals and freshly made tea or coffee. The owner also made a tasty cheese and courgette quiche! He was a very pleasant host and I would definitely recommend a stay here. I’m looking forward to returning some time soon.

We stayed in Lecco for 3 nights at the Nostra Casa Centro. The rooms are big.... the beds comfy and the manager is very knowledgeable and friendly. From Lecco you can take a boat to Varenna & Bellagio.... easy way to travel around Lake Como. The only downside to the accommodation is that the histal is on the 2nd floor of a VERY old building...... so LOTS & LOTS of stairs!!!! It is definitely worth the climb if you are able..... but definitely NOT any good to anyone who is not physically fit. The breakfast is continental. Bread, meats, yoghurts, juice, coffee, tea, croissants etc.... very mice and sets you up for the day. I would definitely stay there again as the owner made us feel very welcome and the bed was VERY, VERY comfy.
