We only stayed 1 night in le Puy, more's the pity, as we arrived right at the start of their annual Roi d'Oiseaux festival, where many of the townspeople dress in mediaeval costume and set up camps in town squares and parks. The hotel was very easy to find and had off street parking. It was close to the old part of town where most of the action and attractions were to be found. Our room on the second floor faced the street and had a large sliding door leading onto a decent sized balcony which we would have enjoyed if the weather had been better. What we really enjoyed was the friendly and helpful staff, particularly in the breakfast room. I suspect it is a family run hotel and la mere was making sure that all guests had plenty of everything. The buffet was better than most we'd seen and the price represented very good value.

The outer architecture of the hotel is very UK 70’s concrete but the welcome is very genuine and helpful. The hotel is about five to ten minutes walk from old town and there is free parking at the hotel. The room was very big with a separate toilet and shower room. We were lucky with our balcony which faced into the setting sun although the view was nothing the sun and a cold beer or wine was great. The room did have a mini bar which we did put our own wine and beer into, there was also a TV in the room. We did not eat at the Hotel but there is a great restaurant called Marco Polo which in the old town which served very good food.

We stayed here for 2 nights on a tour of SW & central France: our room was light and comfortable, nicely decorated and clean with a good sized bathroom. We were on the top floor looking towards the town, could just see the statue of the Madonna over the roof of the adjacent apartment block. We left our car in the car park during our stay as the hotel is only a 5-10 min walk from the centre of town. The breakfast was better than expected though the breakfast room is a bit like a motorway service area (clean but impersonal). We ate elsewhere in the evenings. Wifi worked fine though the log-in didn't always work straight off so we had to seek help at the reception desk.

the hotel is very well located for walking into the town, the car park is small, we were met by a very friendly receptionist, the rest of the staff were not so pleasant, the room was ok, could have benefited from coffee

This hotel is situated within easy walking distance of of the town centre but on a fairly busy road, which our room and balcony overlooked. This might bother some people. There was triple glazing that cut out the noise, but unfortunately no air-conditioning, so in hot weather, you have a choice.... Bed not the most comfortable; the mattress is probably ready for changing. The modern breakfast area was clean and relatively spacious, and the food on offer good and sufficiently varied. One big oversight was the lack of a spare loo-roll; something you don't really want to discover in the middle of the night!

Very nice staff. Good big clean room. Good location. But Wi-Fi was turned off at around 11pm till the next morning. There were no electric sockets/outlets in the room close to where the kettle was so I had to plug out the tv to use the kettle. There is no ac so sleeping on a hot summer night is practically impossible. I opened the window but there was a constant stream of young kids doing wheelies on motorcycles outside the hotel till very late. It was a Saturday night.

We boekten twee nachten in dit iets buiten het centrum gelegen hotel (10 minuten lopen). Gratis parkeren bij het hotel is mogelijk op een privé parkeerplaats. Het personeel spreekt niet of nauwelijks Engels. Vreemd in een hotel in een toeristisch gebied… Onze comfort kamer met extra groot tweepersoonsbed bevond zich op de derde verdieping. Te bereiken via lift. De ruime, schone kamer bestond uit een badkamer met bad en wastafel en een apart toilet. Op de vloer lag laminaat. Tevens klein balkon met zitje bij de kamer. In de kamer tv, koelkast, bureau, kleerkast, koffie/thee-faciliteiten en verduisterende gordijnen aanwezig. Er was geen airco. Genoeg stopcontacten om telefoon/iPad op te laden. Het restaurant biedt lokale gerechten tegen een schappelijke prijs. Net als in heel Frankrijk is het dineren geen avondvullende bezigheid; snel is de formule. Het ontbijt is in buffetvorm en biedt genoeg variatie; stokbrood, croissantjes, verschillende kazen, fruitsappen, koffie/thee, yoghurt, jam, chocoladepasta en fruit. Het hotel is wel erg gehorig.

Les points positifs : accueil et personnel très sympa. Literie confortable, chambre agréable. Les points négatifs : un petit déjeuner uniquement avec des produits industriels pour 10 € par personne. L'isolation phonique médiocre. Vis à vis direct avec un immeuble d'habitation mitoyen en angle avec vue plongeante du voisin sur la chambre. Le tout dans une atmosphère caniculaire sans climatisation. Résultat une nuit avec la fenêtre fermée et l'obligation de faire brasser l'air chaud avec un ventilateur d'appoint. Et ceci pour 80 € la nuit.....
