Lava Hot Springs East Koa Holiday

Great RV park. Supper close to the Lava hot springs. Great walking path. Loved the river. Would definitely stay again. Front desk staff young and could use some customer service training. Only con, park maybe had 10 rvs in one that holds about 100. Asked if we could have an extra 30 min. (Had an appointment) Due to the crazy construction at the entrance and to turn left was VERY difficult. Was told no. Then asked if they had suggestions on where we could park due to said construction going on on the HWY entrance. No, suggestions at all. Couldnt even give us suggestions on places that were okay to park to go into town. Not helpful at all. (Most of the parking lots/streets in town say no RV or trailers. Said no worries we will just check out now. (Around 8am) When I left the office I was told if we stayed 1 min extra they would charge for another day and we would have to leave. Um, we already said we would be checking out early then. So what was the point? But again great park and in my opinion just needs a bit of training and knowledge of the area.

This place was so beautiful n just a beautiful scenery with it everything was a walkable distance 😍

When I checked in, the front desk clerk didn’t even know the size the space that I have. Then informed me of an extra charge for my dog, this is the first koa that I have stayed at that has charge extra for our 14+ year old puggle. Then after setting up camp, I took our dog for a walk, a friendly lab came running after my small puggle, not knowing if it was friendly and tried to get my dog away, finally the owner caught up to her dog and her husband finally caught up to their other lab dog, both were NOT ON LEASH that is the rule in every KOA! Also. When walking to the office I was passed not once but twice by a girl on an EBike do well over the posted speed limit. Right past a speed limit sign that says 5 MPH, I guess that doesn’t apply to e-bikes and not vehicles!!! I would not stay here again!!
