Renaissance Las Vegas Hotel

I'm on a rant right now so this review will be overly long! The condensed version is the the experience for Platinum members is bad due to an awfull club lounge. For everyone else, the rooms are nice but dated. If you can get a decent price on a ***** view room or suite,.they do have nice views. Keep in mind,it's rather far from the ***** or anything else for that matter, the pool is tiny and there is a $30 resort fee plus parking. I'm a Platinum Elite Marriott member and generally only stay at Marriot properties. This was our first time here but we've stayed at two other full service Marriotts in Vegas (Marriot and JW) and this was by far the most disappointing. If you want a Marriott and don't want to pay for the Cosmopolitan (it looks so nice but is oh so pricey!). I highly recommend the Marriott, it's only two blocks from the Renaissance and the experience was much nicer. The good: Although off the *****, this is a nice location located right behind the Wynn Resort and golf course. There is monorail stop right next door and if the weather is cooperating this isn't too bad a walk to the ***** itself. Our room faced the ***** and we had an incredible view of the new Sphere! We were fortunate enough to be upgraded (via a suite night award) to a one bedroom suite. There was a large living room with a huge couch ans an extra half bathroom. The bedroom itself had a king sized bed and a very nice bathroom with soaker tub, separate large shower and a cubicle with a toilet. The Bad: we arrived at 4:15 (check in is at 3) and were told that although our room was ready, it needed to be inspected by a manager and there would be a wait. We gave them our # and they said they would text us. We were given access to the club lounge while we waited but it was very, very disappointing! It's on the wrong side of the hotel so doesn't have a ***** view, it's absolutely tiny considering the size of the property and during the day they have water, pop and some potato chips. That's it! This was the very first club lounge I've seen that didn't have an espresso machine and I'm used to there being a few more snack options. After waiting about 45 minutes, we messaged via the app and got a response of ”let us look into this”, we waited another 15 minutes but no update. Finally at 5:15 we went back to the front desk only to be told that the suite was ready but we were notified via app or text. The woman checking us in never told us how much parking was and she only gave us the drink coupons I'd read about (that cover the resort fee of $30) when I asked for them. You think she would have given them to us when she originally told us we'd have to wait to check in! We went back to the lounge at 5:30 to check out their evening offerings. There was a salad, some grapes, one type of cheese , crackers and what looked like some falafels. They also had beer and wine (crappy domestic for $9 and it looked like wines started at $12). I couldn't believe how meager the offerings were
