It was ok for the cheap price but didn’t have enough towels and when the toilet paper finished they said they didn’t have anymore.

Old and worn out. It was recently remodeled, but whoever did the remodel did a very poor job at it.
The only remodeling they did was adding the cheap laminate and windows to the rooms. Aside from that, the door knobs, doors, hinges, lighting switches, the furniture, fixtures, even the hair dryer must have been at least 20 years old.
The internet was painfully slow, one router for the whole property, if it was even up.
In its defense the only thing I can say is that EVERY HOTEL in this stretch of I-35 with the exception of the Courtyard or Fairfield by Marriott are OLD and the best you can hope for is that they're clean.
The owners of these dingy hotels know they're always going to have customers no matter what, that's why they don't have any incentive to do better. And by better I mean some of these hotels need to be razed and built new again.

This place used to be a very nice one. Now, everything is falling apart and dirty. The internet connection is horrible (could not connect at all). Customer service (night attendant) was not helpful either. All this was the reason we did not stay there the rest of our trip to Laredo.

I've stayed in a lot of cheap hotels/motels and this was by far the worst experience of my life. The carpet had wet spots, the sheets were dirty and stained with.. Bodily fluids.. It smelled HORRIBLE. Seriously, this was bad. Like really bad.

The room was in poor condition upon arrival, with a dirty floor, broken door lock, damaged interior, and a malfunctioning microwave door. The odor emanating was unbearable - a sweet yet repugnant scent of bodies being cremated. that was lingering around the entire hotel. When we arrived at the mobile access room, there was no shower seat. Despite asking the front desk, we were unable to get one.

Our room felt unsafe, there were some spots missing on the wall covered with a blanket. The bathroom door was falling apart. In the morning when we went to get some breakfast there wasn't enough of anything. We asked for some jam and the girl told us "we don't take more out so people stop coming to eat" they were very rude. The overall experience at La quinta had been getting worse over the last 2 years

We had several people in our party staying at this hotel. One group found a roach, another a spider, no hot water with another and we all said rooms were old and needed major updates.
