We wanted to take our 16 month old daughter for her first Northcote experience as it is somewhere very dear to our family. We were quite nervous about our visit and hoping everything would go smoothly with our toddler! We had no reason to be concerned, every member of staff went above and beyond to look after us & engage with our daughter. The lovely sommelier who played peekaboo with her & gave her an adorable teddy, Lisa who helped us with highchair trouble, just to name a few. We had Lisa's seasonal lunch and it was absolutely superb, my husband had the supplementary Lake District lamb which was divine. Our daughter was also very well catered for with the most delicious chicken, chips and veg - which she absolutely loved. Our visit today has only further cemented our love for Northcote & we look forward to visiting for many more years.

We went to this Michelin starred hotel with great expectations. We had the Sunday lunch taster menu which I had to say was delicious. I couldn’t fault the food at all. We had cocktails to start which were all delicious and presented well. We also had the recommended wines with each course which were all good and complimented the food just as explained by the sommelier. However, I did feel a little bit let down by certain things that irked me. We went as a party of 4 to celebrate my daughter’s birthday and although the staff acknowledged the occasion they didn’t give her a complimentary drink or chocolate or anything else which I found a bit mean. But what really annoyed me is that we paid over £600 for the meal which had a £2 cover charge for each person, I mean really???? What is that all about. I’ve never encountered this in any restaurant for years never mind a fine dining establishment: Is this really necessary for customers paying over £600. I found it a bit insulting and it soured the visit.

We stayed at Northcote to celebrate a big birthday. Its been our family’s go to place for special occasions and never disappoints. We arrived to find we had been given a room upgrade - something that never hapoens to us normally so made a special weekend even more special. The rooom was beautiful - very luxurious and every need catered for. The dinner was fantastic, but what always makes Northcote special is the staff. Without fail, they are all friendly and approachable. They are Northcote’s treasure. Breakfast, as always, was beautiful. So thank you for another beatiful memory!

Gorgeous lunch visit from start to finish - lovely venue, food and staff all made for a few hours very well spent. 1x carnivore and 1x vegetarian in our party, each having a culinary experience that will stay with us for a long time. Highly recommended if you enjoy a beautiful setting, engaging staff and wonderful tastes.

Visited this enchanting hotel and Michelin star restaurant as a surprise ‘special birthday’ treat with my partner … and what a treat this was! The hotel immediately had such a warm and inviting atmosphere and our room was so comfortable and spacious and with such beautiful views across the countryside. The restaurant and with its exceptional gourmet menu, certainly didn’t disappoint with each innovative dish so beautifully presented that I was in awe as each dish appeared! My partner also had the flight of wine and the staff were all so knowledgeable, kind and attentive on every aspect of service. This visit has certainly provided me with a memorable experience like no other and one that I will treasure forever. Thank you all so much for this ultimate fine dining experience and thank you Chris for such an amazing birthday gift ✨

After a lovely warm welcome, we had a couple of cocktails in the bar. Service by the girls was excellent. Restaurant service was very disjointed, the table next to us were forgotten about for at least 30-40mins. First 2 dishes were fantastic and we thought can’t wait for the rest to come. Very disappointing the next 3 dishes pigeon,cod and venison very poor. The dessert was great. All in all this place has just been voted in the top 3? Very disappointing meal, hap hazard service and over priced for the quality of cooking. Also watching the kitchen cam from our room the chef on desserts helping him self to what I think was ice cream but double dipping with the same spoon then returning the container to the fridge or freezer. If your showing your kitchen off tell your chefs there being watched. Would we return, No !!

The food offerings cannot be faulted with an exceptional standard displayed in the evening and at breakfast. However the hotel itself is ‘tired’. Plastic flowers on table a no no! Poor furnishings and old fittings. Really comfy bed. Really pleasant staff but an upgrade to location definitely required.
