The Farmhouse Hotel

Great stay but we feel that more serving staff are required in the restaurant. The food, however was great.

Sad to return, to what you considered to be your favorite weekend hotel destination, and to have the exact opposite experience as before. In spite of specifying, and confirming, a specific room and receiving specified written confirmation only to arrive and to be allocated a tiny, stuffy, badly furnished backroom facing the parking area, no view, an inaccessible shower (due to an injury - they knew about on booking - and which was the primary motivation for the room selected), the TV in another room? a steel structure of poor quality serving as a cupboard with a tiny poorly lit small mirror in a cramped corner almost behind the steel monstrosity. Unfortunately, we had a function starting shortly after arriving in Langebaan so could not go on a venture to find alternative accommodation in season. This room rate was only slightly lower than the room we had booked. We were subjected to sewerage pipe noises from adjoining or above rooms. Retired family members (in their eighties) who had also booked a specific room, had their room also taken away and were placed in an attic-style room which has to be accessed by a steep ladder-style staircase. No alternative, no sympathy, just take it or leave it. If one would go to the trouble of reading their poor reviews, one will see how often rooms are booked and just not delivered as specified, so there is no guarantee for the future for us or one assumes any other client. Breakfast was excellent and recommend any meal - the restaurant is privately owned.
