Premier Inn Lancaster

This is not upto the standards that premier Inn portray re: good night sleep & they quote, “CleanProtect™ - our enhanced cleaning regime” this is certainly not the case here. We had been on an 8 hour journey with my 9 yr old granddaughter & 6 month old grandson so we were looking forward to our promised night of comfort from Premier Inn! When we opened our door to the room there was a strong smell of damp & damp marks on the walls, & skirtings were heavy with dust & black mould, clearly hadn’t been cleaned. We complained to the receptionist who moved us to another room. The room didn’t smell as strong but still had damp patches to which he said, “when you go for dinner I will clean those areas for you” When we returned he had cleaned as we could smell bleach & air freshener. If we had arrived earlier & not had such a long trip with 2 small children I would have left & booked elsewhere. The room just felt unclean & we couldn’t wait to leave. *the pictures I have uploaded are from the room we were moved too, so you can imagine what the first room was like…*

When entering our room, the smell of mould hit! The skirtings were very mouldy and hadn’t even been wiped clean! We requested to change rooms due to this. We had a 6 month old baby with us who was experiencing respiratory problems at the time. The man on reception gave us a different room, it had a more pleasant smell, however there was still visible mould in this room, when we went for dinner the man on reception went with bleach to clean these areas. Apparently there isn’t a mould problem at this hotel, yet both rooms had mould. Knowing we were sleeping in a mouldy room especially with small children was a very unpleasant stay

Although the rooms were clean and pretty Standard Premier Inn, The big issue for our party was the meal deal at the pub next door, it was absolutely shocking the main meal in evening for our party of four ranged from Steak like burnt charcoal, Prawn cocktail starter had 4 small prawns bulked out with lettuce, Onion rings were Half an onion ring fried to a pulp, the breakfast even worse fried eggs tasted like they had been stood for hours the yokes were solid , very poor quality sausages, orange juice was not fresh, the best part was the toast. My advice is to educate and give some extensive training to whoever cooks and those that are responsible for buying in food produce to think about the clients that are eating this food that is certainly not of a good quality.

Staff at checking in were very helpful & friendly, the bed was very comfortable & the room was quiet, great breakfast, great location, park & ride stop into town very close to hotel goes every 15 mins, would highly recommend, we would definitely stay again

We had a fantastic stay at Premier Inn Lancaster! Huge thanks to Bill for helping us out with an extra night at the last minute and upgrading us to a Premier Room. The room was spacious and comfortable, and we felt really welcome thanks to the friendly staff and great atmosphere. Perfect location for exploring Lancaster too. Highly recommend, and we’ll definitely stay here again.

The staff are fabulous and friendly but overall this hotel is looking a bit 'tired'. It's easy to find, and the bed was as comfy as usual . Just not my favourite branch of Premier Inn. The biggest complaint is the room temperature. Whatever we tried, we could not cool the room down. Couldn't sleep with the window open as it was too noisy and also blowing a hooley!
